Thread: Howe for England?

    Howe for England?

Surprised there no chat on here about that. He says interested in talking ( according to reports). I can’t see it myself usually the 1st names mentioned are way off the actually appointment.

If Howe does leave for England it will cause concern over the direction we are going.

Cue the Anti-NUFC media machine to slip into 5th gear of hysterical rhetoric that Eddie is not being good enough, not having any experience or winning anything he is also the the only man for the job.

Be prepared for the machine to start pumping out the following lies:

    "Howe wants England"
"England too big to turn down, Howe"
"Yeah Newcastle are a nothing club, I'm off to England" - Eddie Howe

If he goes I'd be astonished.

    Eddie as a man is:

1 - loyal to the bone.
2 - has a very settled home life on Tyneside.
3 - focused on this project with the full backing on a now elite support team in Mitchell, Eales, Bunce etc

"Eddie Howe is the best Monday to Friday manager in the Premier League" - Some geezer. The England job at this stage of his career just doesn't make sense. The press would slaughter him for any missteps or poor performances.

The whole set up has been tailored around him as manager at NUFC. Why would he leave? He's a smart man that job right now just doesn't, from the outside seem to fit him current mentality.

I dont know how tempting it is for him, but it is too much of a risk for him as a manager.
Love or hate Southgate, but result wise he got 2 euro finals and wc qf and sf.
Anyone who takes the job would be judged by these results.
At Newcastle he can grow with the team. I dont know other club which can offer this opportunity if he doesn't succeed with England

Maybe he will feel a little vulnerable now with the boardroom changes, if he left id love us to go big and get Allegri or Tuchel in,

Those reports are correct but they fail to mention he said he was interested in talking when he was unemployed after Bournmouth and well before he came to us.

I can't see him going for it, he's like Klopp in that regard that he likes the day-to-day management of club football.

Also - great sum up Rag.

Yeah, quarter finals, semis and finals are all good but ultimately the man is a loser and England failed every time they face a team in the top 10.

    played 25 won 4.

    That's his record.

The next guy will be judged on how England perform in the qualification for the world cup in 2 years time. If he maintains the depressing defensive garbage he'll be lambasted and hammered from day 1.

If we go out, play quality and take the fight to teams then the man will be praised as the 2nd coming of Jesus and when we lose in the quarters or semi finals the media will throw him to the sharks.

Crazy move for EH for reasons I put on another thread.

However, if he wasn't in the long term plans of the ownership them this is a perfect opportunity..

yeah but nothing suggests he'd not the long term plan. Eddie Howe signed a multi-year contract extension last year. Eddie is fully committed to the club.

I'd agree that the prestige of the England job is the pinnacle for any manager despite it being a poisoned chalice, I just don't see him making that move at this stage in his career.

I have the awful feeling that if Howe gets the England job, Southgate would end up here

Thanks for clarifying that Jammy. Talk Shyte has been going on like he's just said it. Fake news!
