Thread: Four Tops now none.

  1. #1

    Unhappy Four Tops now none.

Abdul “Duke” Fakir, who has died aged 88 of heart failure, was the last surviving original member of the Four Tops.

R.I.P. I can't help myself but think of the songs you guys belted out in the 60s & 70s.

    Gone but never forgotten.

BT, you commented negatively about my posting on Mike Pinder when he died. Different rules?

In any event, I agree that it is sad that he, along with his group members, has died. Another reminder that our time is passing.

I look everyday now to see who the next one is.

As you say, a great group and some super music. I wasn’t into Motown at the time, but came to appreciate the music.

    Who’s next?

No offence meant S.c. but I still don't know who Mike Pinder was/is.

RIP Abdul Fakir,a truly remarkable man who made some of the best songs and sounds along with the other members of the Four Tops. One of the best ever soul/Motown groups ever. Their music will never die..

I had forgotten about this until reading an article today. How fate takes a hand in everything we do and I know from a very personal experience when I lost 19 mates many years ago.

How true BT, however, the positive effect from my point of view was that the missus and I decided that we would never worry about anything which may or may not happen. We have just got on with life and dealt with whatever was thrown at us and we are still here almost 40 years after that life-changing event.
