Do you still get the pre season buzz?

Tomorrow it's a 'home' pre fixture friendly and you know just around the corner is a full head on season.

The 'Gaffer' is back in town......17 out 12 in so far, some retained. It's a true buzz for me.

Let's be totally honest that last season was a disaster and we need to pigeon box those thoughts away as hard as they were.

For me it's a totally clean slate, an old head of a previous Manager who knows this league inside out, new players he's brought in and we know he takes no prisoners ala Daniel Nardiello. You mess up or don't pull your weight and you're out.

Some very good pre season ticket sales shows we as fans are still behind the club and why shouldn't we be? You take the bad with the good the rough with the smooth in life. Football, it can raise your emotions but, deflate you the next game such is the passion.

Let's all get ready for that emotional rollercoaster ride that is Rotherham United. I truly hope we can reflect at the end of the season that it was thoroughly enjoyable. UTM!

    Good positive views there, Brin.

Like you - and probably most people on here - I do start to get a buzz for the new season about now.

I begin to speculate about what will happen and how the new faces will fit in.

It’s also that feeling of knowing each week for the next few months there will be a new contest with all its ups and downs; that fills me with a warm sense of anticipation.

Above all it’s the sense of the tribe coming together in a common cause. We will moan and we will celebrate but we are all Millers wanting the best for our club and team.

Brin I think it’s that optimism you get in the close season SE has galvanised our support that I don’t think anyone else could with the exception possibly of King Ronnie no way would we have sold that many season tickets without him
It’s that unknown that’s exciting after last year on the one hand it’s going to be a tough league we all know the teams already mentioned but I think with the signings made and who’s left from last year we will be strong too
I’m not expecting top 3 but a good solid top half will do me (I know SE will expect more)with hopefully a few wins I’ve got a smile on my face thinking about going to NYS again that was missing last year yes you support through thick ad thin but the attitude of the squad last year was truly abysmal

I'm the opposite brin. Totally underwhelmed buy it all.
I'm always a glass half full bloke though I've got a feeling that it could all turn bitter and toxic if we're not in the top 1/2 dozen..
nobody wants another season like the last one though I guess the rollercoaster always has dips and I hope we're on our way back up not only halfway down the dip

    No not really Brin
We always get promoted from this league of late so it’s a bit of a foregone conclusion.
Birmingham might be able to string a couple of results together but Wigan did that and it wasn’t detrimental

Yes, but for the whole thing, not just the Millers. Excited to see us go again, and even in bad times I still get a buzz in August, but it's a general excitement to see another season across our divisions and a couple I have a keen eye on overseas.

Mornin, of course it can go either way pal. I'll settle for mid table or as a bonus just above.

It's going to be a demanding league, we have a new team that has to gel and bond as one but, so do the the other teams. Just because you've splashed the cash like Birmingham and Wrexham doesn't guarantee you promotion or the title. Look how much we spent last season and look what happened!

Come on, get that glass filled up, anyway it's your round next time we meet

Uttis, that's it pal, mid table will suffice as being successful but not to others. Some think it will be a breeze now the Gaffer's holding the reins.
We need to show patience and get behind them all, its a long season but I think we'll do okay.

It's the demands from Tony that may well spill over if we don't go straight back up.

Nope never have done, can”t watch us without jeopardy or something at stake.

Only time I did feel anything for it was when ronnie”s first return against Barnsley..!but we were lower than a slugs belly at that stage.!.
