    O/T Parkway junction

While we are still in off topic season…..anyone following the madness being built off the rotherway, parkway J33?

You can find out on line just how much traffic is expected, space for 67 artics for starters. Hundreds of car spacers.
Starbucks drive thro, shops, usual welcome brand building. And a pitifully short slip lanes in and out of the island (which was and is crazy tricky to drive round before the services alternations)
It is going to be absolutely mayhem.

The go ahead for this project (which was changed from the original plan) was granted by none other than Rotherham Borough Council, who thought it would improve the J33 island.

And we thought the cycle lanes were bad.

The town itself doesn’t benefit directly but, it will put Rotherham further on the map. There are approximately 300 jobs that will be created. Is that bad for local folk seeking close proximity employment?

As for the driving, if anyone cannot navigate the area safely, then you don’t deserve to be on the road.

Right I now challenge you to post a happy positive post, can you manage that? It’s not hard, it really isn’t. Go on, show us your happy side. 😉

Will be fine as long as drivers can read road signs and stick to the correct lanes.

Obviously you don’t use the junction enough to know what the extra volume usage, congestion delays, will bring…..still, if you wish to bury your usual head in the sand?
We shall see who is proved right.

The Olympic opening was quite something! ;-)

This project was originally planned for two junctions further up at j35 but the tree huggers and nimbys raised objections so the old industrial land at j33 became the favoured spot.

It’s going to be very handy for coach trip pick ups and drop offs instead of travelling down to Woodall Services or Pond ST !

But Millmoor days has a valid point Brin, it’s a dodgy junction now, the changes will make it more confusing and potentially dangerous
