Sormy is a good mate of James Cryne. Both are data led men.

I could well be wrong on this and it was about someone else but I seem to recall him and James did a spreadsheet data course together, maybe university friends. I also recall something about them living in the same block of luxury flats in central Manchester, not the same flat I hasten to add.

Spectemur Agendo --as with them all I will judge them by their actions/ results after a few months, not if they speak well or say the right/ positive things, Duff style, in interviews.

    Damn good idea Poggs.
Very positive interview and I like the way he thinks and speaks
You're right SB, it's not about what they say but rather what they do. At the moment we can only go on what they say, so I feel positive after that interview.

Lot of positive things over the last few weeks at Barnsley FC, in my opinion.

Let's see what additional signings we can make permanent and loan and early season results.

    Fingers crossed.

    Added this from Sormaz mate.

JON FLATMAN COLUMN: I’m confident club will hit new heights
    02/08/24.

It was great to be back at Oakwell this week as we welcomed Derby County in pre-season. Another positive result for Darrell and the team as we look to enter the 24/25 season as well-equipped as we possibly can be to achieve our goals.
As we kick off this season, I am confident that our collective energy will propel Barnsley FC to new heights.

Our commitment to continuous improvement, both on and off the pitch, remains steadfast, and I am excited for the journey ahead.
In our continued effort to foster a closer relationship with our supporters, I am pleased to announce the appointment of the chair and vice chair of our newly established Fan Advisory Board. These positions have been filled by individuals who have demonstrated unwavering dedication to the club and its community.

Their insights and perspectives will be invaluable as we work together to shape the future of Barnsley FC.
Alongside them, a committee of diverse and passionate fans has been appointed, ensuring that all voices are heard and represented.
As part of our commitment to engaging with our supporters, we are planning a fans’ forum at the end of the summer.

This will be an opportunity for open dialogue between the club’s leadership and its fans, addressing any concerns and discussing the club’s strategic direction. Your input is invaluable, and I look forward to these conversations. Additionally, we will be holding a ‘meet the players’ event in late August.
This will provide a unique glimpse into the hard work and dedication of our players and coaching staff via an open training session.

It’s an opportunity for fans, especially young supporters, to see their heroes up close and personal, fostering a deeper connection with the team. The event will allow for fans, young and old to meet players, obtain signatures and ‘selfies’ and to meet their heroes.
This replaces the ‘open day’ in order to ensure fans have more integration with players at an event not based around the professional/performance requirements of a ‘friendly’ game.

This weekend also brings a thrilling event to our town as we host the boxing match between Zak Chelli and our very own Callum Simpson.
The anticipation is palpable, and I encourage everyone to come out and support Callum as he steps into the ring.
This event not only showcases top-tier athletic talent but also commences the push for Oakwell’s status as a premier venue for a variety of sports and entertainment events.

I am proud to report that Barnsley FC has achieved a record number of commercial partnerships this year.
This milestone reflects the strength of our brand and the unwavering support of our community.
These partnerships are critical in providing the resources necessary to maintain and improve our facilities, invest in our youth programmes, and support our ambitions on the pitch.
There are several announcements imminent on that front and we thank all partners, old and new.

In closing, I extend my deepest gratitude to our supporters, partners, and the entire Barnsley community. Your unwavering support is the foundation upon which we build our success.
Together, let us make this season one to remember.

Just wondering if everyone on here understands what Sormaz is talking about - when he talks about things like ‘The Barnsley Style’ ???

As we know - there are a number of posters on here that believe there is no such thing as ‘The Barnsley Style’.

It is refreshing for the fans to have some communications from the club , now they appear to talk the talk lets hope they back DC and walk the walk , so far we have not replaced the departing players, and at this stage DC is going to go into the season with a weaker squad than Collins did last season , although in fairness to Collins they did sell our club captain on the last day of the transfer window and gave him mission impossible, lets hope they do not rinse and repeat thus leaving DC with a kick in the nuts , one thing though our owners are doing and that is showing consistency , they sack the manager and let the new manager go into the season with a weaker squad , they did it with Collins and look like they are doing it with DC , it is called " The Barnsley Way " a new concept introduced by our owners, having said that there is still 5 days left before we start our campaign and hopefully the pen will be out before then , I am not so sure !

    This is gunna be good.

Can you explain to us then Animal what this Barnsley Style means ???
And what the ‘Game Model’ means that was part of the DoF job application requirements???

BTW - and I’m not including you in this - but some on here have described it as such - it is not 11 players running about a lot.
