Thread: The countdown is almost over

    The countdown is almost over

Anyone else feeling enthused and a little excited by the start of the new season. Game v Valencia and the whole pre season suggests we should go pretty well this year.

Portsmouth at home is a great way to start the season. Seem to have a very good first XI (barring further departures) and a decent bench.

Joseph looks like he will start at 9.

    C’mon Leeds

We have had good and bad pre-seasons over many years. None have shown the slightest inkling of how the regular season will or won't go and I don't see why the last few weeks should be seen any differently.

I think it was Rev who suggested the Portsmouth game was a dead cert 3 points. Some others have suggested that same as I did, that they will want to prove a point as their first game back in the Championship AND it's Leeds. None of it will be easy, no matter what the end result and the likes of Aaronson and Wober had best be a hell of a sight more physically prepared than the kind of powder puff behaviour we saw last time round.

Wober looks solid and has physical presence but agree with you Aaronson needs to show he is capable of Yorkshire Grit.

Most excited by the prospect of Matteo Joseph getting a run with Rutter behind him.

Looking forward to it but also got nervous feel to it.
No excuses with this squad , albeit weaker than last seasons , should be good enough for a top 2 finish.

Farke fails again then it should be the end for him.

    Yep
Excited to see how we do again this season, not sure I agree about a weaker squad Rev - sure we lost Archie, Kamara and Somerville - but we have gained a good right back, got a stronger looking defence with Struijk and Wober both fit and ready, Ampadu back in midfield with Gruev and Rothwell looks like a decent addition, Joseph looks like an upgrade on what we where playing up front last season - he looks ready and I predict he will shine, both Gnonto and James are established international wingers and Georginio on his day is brilliant - just expect a bit more from Peroe who looks like he has a bit more competition from Joseph already, Think we need a further couple of additions - Midfield and a spare winger but other than that cant wait to get going - and without Somerville we might mix it up a bit more this season and not just play to the one trick pony on the left who didn't have a left foot.
    bring it on!

A great calm falls over the board The calm before the storm.

As always and for ever I am looking forward to our battles ahead. Out with the old, in with the new and all that.
More (much more) seasons behind me than ahead….I will not let anyone destroy my support for my club in any way shape or form. As always I am predicting a promotion season. No ill feelings on anyone, our player, managers and us our great fans.
