    Barrow

Nothing much to go on to make a prediction. However, i'm going to start the ball rolling by suggesting 2-2. Bold eh!
    Hemmings and Lankester..

Hoping to see a win, be interesting to see how we get on against someone at our level after all the pre season games being against teams far below or a good step up. Has anyone been barrow away before? First time for me on Saturday

I think we are going into the realms of the unknown here, last year we realized we had a decent squad at the start of the season. We didn't fully understand just how good we were or that White would play such a big part in our success but losing him and then Offord ended any hope of automatic promotion. This year we just don't know, our leading scorer has gone along with Offord and Rio and the pre-season games gives little away, apart from 60 mins against Stoke, it's been a little uninspiring. I think Lankester and Sanders are decent enough signings and could make a difference, Hemmings and Bogle are unknowns, I have heard that Bogle blows Hot & Cold but when he is Hot he can be very Hot but can also disappear from games. Hemmings score ratio is not prolific, so not expecting many goals from him but if he creates a few then that's Ok. Left back still bothers me a lot but happy with the new central defenders. All in all little to go on really, at this stage I wouldn't put us in the play offs but beat Barrow on Saturday I may feel a little more optimistic. Lose against Barrow would be concerning but not the end of the world.

Was going! Match ticket and 3 nights at the Premier Inn booked. However, had to cancel all that for a fortnight in Manchester Royal Infirmary. Out tomorrow though, so will try and watch it on the telly.

I genuinely don't thin a win on Saturday is any reason to "feel optimistic" in the same way I don't think a loss will be reason to be worried. A loss will be disappointing and nothing more and a win will be pleasing. And nothing more. It is going to take a few weeks for these players to bed in and if we are top half at the end of September then we will have some hope for a decent season again.

Agree in general, but the manner of a loss or win, or even draw would be more informative.

1-1. Lankester GS. Don't think Bogle is ready to play as I'm pretty sure we've signed him injured. If he does play at Barrow he might not even do anything as his form is very extreme and considering the fact he has been injured for the past 7 months, he's very likely to have a bad day and we may aswell have 10 men on the pitch. Hemmings will start tomorrow but he plays (and looks) like another CBR and will probably get a maximum of 7 goals and maybe a singular assist all season. I think Bell has struck gold with Roberts and has definitely got a future star at his disposal who should play tomorrow. With JL and MS coming in, LB has helped "fix up" the patchy and slow midfield from last season by giving us 6 players to choose from instead of 3. Also 4 of them are below 25, so they'll have more zip and potential to them.

Season overall, I think a finish above 10th would be very surprising but I hope we can do well as LB is a great manager with a good team with lots of potential stars.

Was injured after 10 minutes in his second pre-season appearance at Stafford (played 45 minutes at Newcastle), not when we signed him.
