    A Night At Old Trafford

Obtained the opportunity through work , just smart casual dress code , a running buffet , free programme and seats in the corner of the Stretford End and the Sir Alex Ferguson Stand quite high up , cracking view to be fair .

Took the wife who is a big tv Manchester United fan and her first visit to Old Trafford for 30 years , she's not enjoyed the best of health recently and last night did her the world of good .

The last time I was at Old Trafford was for our 98 FA Cup tie when the stadium held 55k , there were 73k inside the stadium last night .

Wasn't much of a match in my opinion but the wife loved it and enjoyed the late goal that gave United the win .

It's a right pig getting home afterwards , dear me , the traffic is mental and it was after midnight when we got home .

It was alright in a once a season kind of way but give me the terraces at Wakey Trinity tomorrow afternoon all day long .

Got talking to a few lads whilst we were having our meal pre match .

I mentioned I wasn't the Man Utd fan it's the wife and they asked me as a neutral what I thought of the situation at Old Trafford .

I said that you simply don't have any star players anymore like you once did and that over the last decade you haven't had any players that really excite me in the way Fergie's teams had .

Even before Fergie arrived United always had star players even if they always fell short to Liverpool in winning the league .

Your near neighbours have the star players you once signed .

I take the point I was on a hiding to nowt but they did ask none the less .

They agreed in a gritted teeth kind of way .

Still sense a god given right attitude amongst the United fan base .

Dislike that club with a passion.

    Glad your Mrs enjoyed it.

I should imagine they have many supporters like that. I suppose winning the PL 13 times since its inauguration then expectations never fade even though they're nowhere near since Fergie retired
