Not an easy task to find a decent sized club that's performed worse than Notts over the last 20 years, but Grimsby are one of them with an average final position of 89th in the pyramid since 2004 whilst Notts have averaged 80th over the same period.
Maybe Grimsby will turn things around this season, but it's probably safe to assume that they will finish in the bottom half and another season of struggle just outside the relegation zone wouldn't be a surprise either.
Maynard has won just 2 of his 11 home games since taking charge (v sides that finished 13th and 22nd last season) and averaged 0.82 PPG at Meadow Lane, which really is an appalling statistic. An opportunity here to prove that the slate has been wiped clean over the summer, but fail to win this fixture and it will very much feel as though nothing has changed, at least in terms of the results.
I can't believe we won't win this one.
Notts 2 Grimsby 1
Notts 2-1 Grimsby. Jatta and Platt.

Jatta, Crowiey. Jones (if he plays)

Notts 0 Grimsby 1. 7524 crowd. Not very happy, mainly.

And I still can't believe it's not butter.
