So he's been fired from BBC programs and dropped by his PR agency.

Apperently for "inappropriate comments/behaviour".

What has he done? I hadn't heard anything prior to this?

He seemed the BBC golden boy to take over from Lineker on MOTD.

Unsolicited texts to a colleague according to the Beeb themselves.

I guess without knowing the nature of the tests, it's hard to say but, on the face of it, losing your job over getting in touch with someone you fancy (which is just the inference I've drawn from it-could be totally wrong) seems overly harsh.

Maybe there's more to it?

On the plus side, it means he won't get the Match of the Day gig so, every cloud and all that...

He seems to think he has a case as he's heavily involved his solicitor.

Has he? I heard he was 'consulting' his solicitors. It's interesting that he hasn't denied anything but has said there are two sides to every story.

Thing is, even if it is 'just' flirty texts (what his wife makes of those is another matter), in the current climate and especially after Huw Edwards, stuff like this is only ever going to end one way.

Sounds like the daft cnt was caught out at some heinous phone activity. The missus will deal him the best punishment, believe me. Never rated him much when he was with us. A very average and forgettable tenure..
