A little Notts anecdote

I've been living in Cyprus for the past three years and don't get to see Notts as often as I'd like but the friends I have here know that I'm a Notts fan and on the back of our promotion year from the National league, lots of people here are now looking for our scores.

One of my mates here is a plastic Wrexham fan, the other is a Scottish Celtic fan who travels watching Scotland and when I returned to Cyprus a few months ago after a short, visit home, I brought them both Notts mugs from the club shop.

The Celtic fan was told in no uncertain terms that I'd expect him to use the mug and have it on display at work where he said he'd take it. He has a very senior fire fighting role on one of the UK military bases here and after work tonight we met up for a beer and to watch a couple of games in our local.

Guess what happened today, he said, I looked ta him and said 'how the f*** would I know'. He went on to tell me that some army major on passing by his office, has stopped in to shake his hand after seeing the mug on his desk and presuming he's a 'fellow' Notts fan! My mate didn't have the heart to burst his bubble and hopes he doesn't drop in again.
