Loan Deals - out of club

Jamie Miley has left to play for Newport County.
Max Thompson is off to Northampton.

    Both season long loans.

Not sure if others have left yet but I really feel Shola should be doing a better job getting our youngsters out for first team football.

I know that Eddie likes to keep some in but. . . .doesn't sit right, don't know how to put into words what i mean

I agree. Loans should be a win win. Players get minutes, club gets to try before a buy, our club saves money on wages and games keep the loaned player sharp. We just need return clauses should an injury crisis strikes. Shola should be all over this stuff.

    Exactly.

Given how massive a part of either developing and playing or developing and selling (at a massive profit) is in todays world… then it’s staggering we have Shola ss the guy who is loaning players out… get someone better qualified to work with other clubs and build relationships.

Shola is a Cashely level appointment, and we need much better. We have brought in a lot of ROI players with great reputations… then need the platform to show they should be in our squad or that they deserve a spot in another squad and we can profit handsomely for recognising their talent and finding them a club they can shine at (a la Minteh)

I'm staggered they haven't appointed someone with a proven track record of bringing players on through well-thought-out loans.

Yes, Shola is a lovely fella and part of our history, etc...but wasn't he also a massive fatso arse-licker?

Mind, in his defence, the Minteh loan worked out quite well.

Shola should be out the door. I can remember a successful loan out in my life, apart from Anderson to Bristol Rovers. We need a better professional in the role.

I sadly, vaguely remember that it was an Ashworth insistence on where Minteh went on loan.
