    Reflections on today

    Well...3 games and 7 points.

You can't fault our resilience. Without it, we would probably have lost today so credit to the players for that.

Good, positive team selection by Eddie.

    Tonali back.

We saw the best and some of the worst of Joelinton today.

Whilst I'm happy with the reults we've had, that's three league games and a cup game where we've played, imo, poorly. We gave the ball away so cheaply today and invited the pressure that evenyually lead to the comical defending for their goal.

Massively… not having a defender who can play out from the back is a big miss.

Too many balls hit in hope with no real plan, and possession given away.

Gordon… apart from the last 20 minutes he was f**king awful… watching him I could actually believe his head has been turned.

Great to see Tonali on, a massive upgrade on Longstaff. Longstaff has his moments, but generally he’s a sideways/backwards passing lightweight… whereas Tonali is a solid unit who presses forward and was instrumental in the winning goal.

A Bruno free kick in the attacking third and no clue what they were doing, this stuff should be second nature off the training ground.

3 points, can’t say we massively deserved it as we faced more shots and they played better linked up attacking play… but grinding out results against the run of play is the hallmark of successful teams so I’ll take it 😁

Pretty much the sum up I'd have gone with Ian.

Otherwise i'd add - Tino . . . my MOTM. Can see why England have come in for him and he's tying up Trips spot as his own.

On Trips - the clips I've seen of him coaching, encouraging from the sidelines - that is hte type of leadership we need from him.

It was a gritty win, one we were lucky to get away with, but who is going to complain

I thought Barnes was great, the more he plays, the better. Agree with Zipps, that Joelinton played a lousy game, he looked lazy to me!
Would like to see more game time Lewis Hall, I think he's going to be a very solid player once we get more games into this lad.

One thing that surprised me, DUBRAVKA was on the bench? WTF???? I thought he had left Where is that lazy Greek we paid good money for? Why wasn't his ass on the bench? And we also signed RUDDY, what a joke !!! FOUR goalkeepers, and we ain't playing in Europe.

I am very disappointed with our business this window, and I didn't get to watch the game yesterday, but it appears Barnes and Tonali are both like new signings for us.
