I definitely think there’s a general move away from the old routine of managers doing the merry go round and getting multiple clubs.

More and more clubs are now taking chances on younger coach specific coaches, many of whom had no playing career to speak of and who have concentrated on a coaching career from a young age.

Hence the improvement in technique and game planning these days.

I genuinely think Pardew and Bruce were the most tactically inept managers I can remember since the early 90s. Easily the top 2 worst managers at the Albion in my lifetime (I always remind a Newcastle fan I work with how they sent us this ruinous pair).

I know we had some bad managers before then, but equally they had bad players. We were a bottom half championship team until Megson took over.

Bruce, and especially Pardew, inherited half decent sides.

I think Pulis did a job. It was the right time when he left.

Ismael wasn't given long enough, although I did have doubts about his style of football and the way he set up the team, I didn't see the logic in sacking him so early into a long contract when we were sitting in a play off position - to then appoint Bruce. Terrible decision making from the board at the time.

Pulis did a good job with what we had Prando. No question. The football wasn’t the West Brom way though. Carlos is a much better fit for this club. No need for a tin hat though.
