October is a big month indeed

Seven, yes seven games to get through in October, that's a tall order.

Six league games and one cup game but how will we fair?

Cambridge away - They are rock bottom and for a reason, with only 1 point to show for their efforts so far.
Drawn 1 and lost 5 with a goal difference of -7. Some say not all games have to be wins but for me, it's 3 points or nothing. Other clubs have played them and taken all 3 points so if we really want to get going, this is a game we simply HAVE to win.
    Away win

Reading at home - They've won 2 drawn 1 and lost 3 and scored 2 more than us and have a -3 deficit. We've both lost 3 games. Having been battered by Bolton last Saturday, they next face Huddersfield who hopefully will soften them up even more before we play them. I don't think this will be an easy game when we meet. Draw

EFL Trophy - Newcastle U21's at home. A slight break away from the pressures of the League. Will Evans use this game to try another new formation? It's a nowt competition until you reach the semis so why not try using WING play for a change?
We know he won't use it in League games so why not experiment? Too hard to call.

Peterborough away - Always liked a game against them, maybe it's the dislike of MacAnthony and Fry.
Well they're certainly doing better than us. Won 3 drawn 1 lost 2 with a +1 goal difference having rattled in 10 goals so far.
Evans will want this one so bad and so will Posh want to rub his nose in it. Hopefully, we've picked up a few points by the time this game comes around. One player I know will be fired up for this one, as he'll want to show them he's still got it!Draw

Wrexham at home - It all comes crashing down to earth as the Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney roadshow hits town.
Table topping Wrexham are up there for a reason, they've spent large and have some great players. It will be a very warm welcome back for Ollie Rathbone and I hope he gets a great reception. Nothing more to say on this other than Home defeat

Leyton Orient away - We will have already played 4 games by the time we meet. The O's have won their last 2 games so may be building on something. It's a fair way off to give it a call so my heart says - Win

Stevenage at home - A legend returns! Yes, Alex Revell brings his team along to play us. He will surely get a rousing reception and rightly so. He's set off on a similar vein to us but they're 1 point in front and have played a game less than us so,
the Apprentice is currently showing his old Manager how it's done. It might be a close win, a shock loss but, I'm going for a Home win

Like I said, a big month coming up. To summarise:

    Cambridge - Win
    Reading - Draw
    EFL -?
    Peterborough - Draw
    Wrexham - Loss
    Leyton Orient - Win
    Stevenage - Win

How do you see it all ending?

you predict a 50% win ration LOL Brin come on what drugs are you taking. To get that we will need, first 11 on the pitch for all those games, our forwards to covert the chances, drop Phillips, coaches to improve the set plays, in fact some coaches would be good and Evans to stop telling us how brilliant everyone else is (god help us the week we play Wrexham with his bottom licking interviews)

I hope you’re right and I’m wrong but with Kelly available for all those games I think we’ll be doing well to come away with seven points from the month of October unless there’s a marked upturn in in performance levels

Derbs, no drugs pal never ever taken illicit drugs in my life and never will. My 50% has you say, is solely based on the fact we are playing lower league clubs around us. Reality would show, had those 6 games been against the current top 6, I'd have probably posted 5 losses and a draw.

The points you have raised' ''To get that we will need, first 11 on the pitch for all those games, our forwards to covert the chances, drop Phillips, coaches to improve the set plays'' do need to happen though.

    1. Agree drop Philips

    2. Players between themselves can improve set plays. For a starter, stop Clark - Harris from taking all the free kicks near the opponents penalty area, he's s.hite at it by over trying. Stop Powell from 'FLOATING' corner kicks in, have someone who can whip a ball in. Powell's kicks, although accurate, have no pace that players thrive getting onto the end of.

    3. Converting chances. We are still one of the top 10 sides in the country for creating chances yet, the finishing is woeful! Nombe should be on 8/10 goals now but his finishing is crap. Also add Odoffin to that for chances missed, he too should be on at least 5 if not more goals by now. Who actually sits them down and talks them through the simplistic things of keeping concentration, heading a ball down into the ground not head high as in Odoffin's chances this season?

    4. First 11 on the pitch. That's not all about being injured. Some players can and will feign it if they can get away with it. Take our sour bunch from last season. Get those you need back on the grass and you're halfway there. it's the coaching methods that's letting us down and we all know, Evans has openly stated he doesn't do coaching so, see Raynor et al for that.

    5. Team formations - Totally lays at Evans door an no one else. He's making a mockery of how we should be playing so far and it shows in the results. Change it, or him if we want to show progression.

I'm hoping Kelly he's retired relying on him shows we're going nowhere!

Go on then I'll take the bait......the same Kelly that ran the midfield at Charlton and scored a peach of a goal that got us a point that some didn't expect us to get?

Brin you’ve marked Cambs as ‘simply have to win’ match.
It’s Gary Monk in charge if he’s still there by then , fingers crossed he is.

Therefore it’s Not only a nailed on win but a very welcome boost to our goal difference
I hope you’re with me on this one because not many appear to be

I am happy to bite on this

Kelly is the best midfielder at the club, we were very lucky to get him and we look garbage without him on the pitch. Now he is at the end of his career, he won't play more than 70% of matches, so the management relying on him to play is stupid. He was never meant to be a replacement for Rathbone totally different style of player, we DIDN'T get a replacement because we stopped building a squad because someone spent our "very, very good League 1 budget" on a squad full of centre backs. We have 7 if you count the next John Stones
