AFC Wimbledon 'go fund me' page hits £150,000

Talk about having a whip round, this has been a phenomenal response after the sink hole appeared at Plough Lane.

The biggest shout out has to go to lifelong fan Graham Stacey, who set up a 'Go fund me' page with a target of £10,000.

I think one of the biggest questions I would be asking is to the construction company who built the ground, as to why they think this happened.

These 'Go fund Me' pages seem to be the way forward. Tap into the emotionally lead society that we now live in,then the world is your oyster! So what if the pitch repairs only cost 50k? Do they send the change back?

It's a murky world. Mrs. CA paid into one recently and the cause it was set up for never materialised (a sick dog died before it could be operated on). So far she's seen nothing of the donation she gave.

JB, Looking at the state of the pitch, that's going to cost a lot more than £150k to repair. Also sounds like where they built the new ground is subject to flooding so, the club buildings have also been flooded, not a great place to build really. I very much doubt there will be any surplus left over. Well done that fan for starting the fund, he is part of the fans trust board so quick thinking by him. Free pie I think at the next home game

I'm going to set one up saying that watching The Millers over the last 2 seasons has caused me and my family huge impoverishment through mental health decline. Any potential donor would only have to watch a 3 minute montage of said seasons to get their card out and, within a month,I'd be watching them for free on Ifollow from my new bought pad in Barbados!

It'll cost a lot more now that tendering contractors know how much is in the kitty!

Depends on how you build; New York Stadium is also in an area at risk of flooding, though we elevated the ground so its less likely the ground and pitch will flood from the river.

Plough lane is in high risk area of flooding from river or sea

NYS is in a medium risk area of flooding from river or sea, though some of surround roads like Don Street are in high risk, as we found out with the Ipswich game

Forget sorting the ground, get Hugill on loan for a couple of months with that money.

I wonder if Weds want him? Well, they’ve taken 2 of our previous players so why not another one.
