    Romared Match Thoughts. Burton Albion-v-Barnsley

Burton and Cambridge are the only two clubs yet to record a league win this season.

Burton are ripe for the taking by a Darrell Clarke side determined to show the ten goals conceded in the last two games have been just a blip.

Such is the league at this stage of the season that a win for Burton and a win in their game in hand would put them level with 7th placed Barnsley.

It will be interesting as to see how TM lines the side up for this match, hopefully he will tinker with the left back spot and play someone who is actually left footed instead of arguably our worst right back , midfield is always a puzzle but surely Dunn has to feature somewhere , possibly just behind Cosgrove who has to start for me also Craig as well with hopefully big Don returning , all interesting stuff , I actually might be tempted to give Killip a game , I can never understand the stick this lad gets , probably because we signed him from Hartlepool but apart from one error at Lincoln last season he has never let us down minds you with our defence it is hard for any keeper to do well .

Oh right - the penny has dropped.
    TM = Tinker Man.

    Agree regarding Killip.
And this also applies to other players being slated because of where they were signed from.

Yep - TM needs to stop tinkering.
The objectives must be to play to our strengths - and not setting the team up just to quell the strengths of the opposition.

    My line up.
Now I know Phillips has been good this season - far more involved than he was last season.
But I’d set the team up as 343 - so there’s no room for him.

    ——————Killip
    ——— Mael - Pines - Earl
    Cotter - Craig - Connell - Lofthouse
    ——— Fabio - Cosgrove - Dunn

Agree with the team, till you left out Phillips ………
    Personally, Connell would be out.
“Putting on a show” needs to start putting one on.

I’d like Phillips to be in there - but I think we need 2 defensive midfielders in the middle.

I’ve also put Cosgrove in the team - even tho he hasn’t shown owt yet to convince me he’s good enough.
IMO the central striker spot is the weakest position at the club.
O what a team it would be for a Dike or Morris.
I don’t know enough about Humphrys yet to consider him for that position.

Looking very shaky at the back, to me Roberts’ feet are too slow. This lot could cause some trouble for us today.

    Wow !!!
    Things can only get better.
That was an incredibly poor 1st Half.

We needed a target striker - we got Cosgrove.
Nar I remember Animal saying we dunt want a gret lump ur lard (or words to that effect).
And that’s exactly what we have here.
A fridge freezer has better ball control.
He needs unplugging and dragging off.

Another one that needs to be subbed is Roberts.
OMG - are those his own legs ???
Honestly he’s playing as tho he’s got artificial legs.
