    Swansea v Stoke

Swansea City v Stoke City, Sat 5 Oct, 15:00
Three games in six days, a tough schedule in order to squeeze in yet another International break unfortunately.
One point from two games, a must win on Saturday, we don’t want to sit on a defeat for two weeks before the next game.
Made harder by Stoke’s big win v Portsmouth on Wednesday night.
Steve Schumacher has gone, a new head-coach appointed from Norwich, Narcis Pelach, one win, two defeats in his three games since taking over.
Josh Tymon has a point to prove after Stoke let him go, but his form has been inconsistent recently. Joe Allen another ex-Stokie, will be up for this before he joins the Wales squad.

Some concerns boys about a few of the players.
Tymon not at his best this season, same as the start of last season. An own goal and almost gifting another on Wed night. He often gets forward and leaves us widely exposed at the back to the counter attack. A lot of huffing and puffing in the role he has to play getting up and down the pitch. Is he fit enough for it?

Groundhog Day as we continue on repeat.
Dominate possession, fail to score, fade second half, opposition bring on superior subs, we bring on inferior subs and we struggle not to concede.
Stoke played a high-press and gave us a hard time as we tried to play out from the back, Vigouroux forced to kick the ball out and us losing possession. Our weak attack could not force a way through a stubborn Stoke defence. Most notable near-miss was an Eom shot which hit the bar and bounced down outside the goal line.
A combination of poor passing and ball control at times from the Swans and crosses and free-kicks over or under hit didn’t help.
I didn’t like the Stoke play acting, falling down at the slightest contact and the professional fouls to stop us when their player was beaten.

Once again our subs changed the game, and not in a good way. As soon as Franco is subbed we lose the midfield and are hanging on under a barrage as opponents take advantage. A knackered Franco is better than Fulton et al.
We should have won this game at a canter with the chances we had, 19 shots, 5 on target.

Vigouroux had another stand out performance in goal, what a signing he has been.
Ironically, the goalkeeper we waited for all summer, Carl Rushworth, until we could wait no longer due to Brighton’s dithering, eventually went on loan to Hull, where he sits on the bench watching his career stall.

Two points from nine on offer, two home draws and an away defeat. One goal scored in those three matches. No end product has been our downfall and needs redressing urgently.
