Not that long ago we finished above Villa in the Premiership.
Look at us and them now , feckin w@nkers never backed Bielsa's 2nd season in the Premiership.
The rest is history.....

Probably not popular but I"ll state it anyway.
They have had stability for some time now. They've also had some lucky breaks but sometimes luck is confused with preperation and ready to strike when the opportunity presents itself. They also did much better with the proceeds from the Grealish sale that we did with Raph and KP money.
We, on the other hand, tried to move along too fast and our great coach was not as good at squad management and using a deeper bench than theirs was. We rushed and ended up with Ted. However, our lack of depth and the refusal to deepen the squad caught up with us. I don't think it was the managment of the club as much as Bielsa that was the cause of the short squad. It didn't really matter anyway since MB wasn't going to sub his favorites. Bampuff, Ayling, Kiko, Cooper, Harrison etc played regardless of how poor their form was. It was not competition for a spot/play time... it was competition for getting the physio to OK playing that game. Why would any up and coming talent have come to our club knowing that? We gave away Pontus, Alioski and several good strikers because MB did not like them.
They had a better back room and better coach, for the prem, than we did. Hopefully the steady course the new management is employing will pay off for us like them.
