Are we missing any of our ex's?

    Ex players, obviously

We've talked about the success/performance of new signings, but are there any of our recent disposals that you still wish were still, as the management like to say, 'in the building'?

Let me think. Wildsmith, Bird, Fornah, Hourihane, Waghorn, Loach, Knight, Smith, Gayle

At the start of the season I would have said Smith. I now think we have better, and better cover than dear old Korey.

I now think for the right fee and if we could wrap him in cotton wool it might have been worth keeping Gayle. I really don't think Collins is much of an 'impact' sub and Gayle just might have been

    Anyone?

They all live in Texas, apparently.
I never like to look back at these things, they all had their chances. It's not like we've given away our best ever title winning players, because who would do a thing like that?

We thought we'd miss Didzy and didn't.

Not sure we miss any of them to be honest.

    Maybe Bird.

If you want a fetish thread you'll have to start one

Kinkladze was a gem but I think he's had more than a baker's dozen too many pies to be missed now.

I don't think we really miss any of the recent departees.

Surprised not to have missed Wildsmith and Smith, but I don’t think we have. Agree with AF about Gayle but he may have been too expensive.

3 months ago, I think Wildsmith would have been on any list of players we'll miss. I think JWZ is an improvement. If Wildsmith had stayed, I don't think we'd have gone for JWZ so we have a lot to thank Wildsmith for. IMO, he must be ruing not signing the deal offered.

Gayle? Did well for us in the 6 games he played but they were in L1. He hadn't pulled up any trees in the Championship for Stoke which is why they let him go.

I think Bird and Knight would find places in or championship squad but replacements seem to be at least as good and so we don't as such miss the but have replaced with equally adequate players

I think Kenzo is an upgrade on Bird and Ozoh on Knight. We also have Ebou who is a very good midfield destroyer. IMO, both Bird and Knight would be bench sitters if they were still here.
