Sorry but I don’t think it was anything like it! Mair’s was foot up well off the ground, yesterday was a poor penalty along the floor (if my memory is correct - I only remember him putting in the rebound).
Did anyone else get reminded of THE save from Archie Mair with his foot at Wembley and the Chesterfield goalies save from Didsy yesterday?
Very, very similar...but thankfully with very different outcomes.
A bit of a strange coincidence though.

I can’t be the only one that finds Didzy’s playing style a little languid and clumsy-looking. I’ve watched the penalty few times and I can’t even tell what part of the foot he strikes the ball with.
Not a criticism in the slightest, I adore the bloke and his career speaks for itself, just an observation.
Whilst not identical, the save with the trailing foot was certainly reminiscent of Archie's, and it wasn't the only reminder of the Wembley game either. The 2-2 scoreline, the fact that Chesterfield twice took the lead and we twice equalised, their early goal, our late equaliser, it was even the same referee! There was also a moment in the first half when Dobra had a shot very similar to his goal at Wembley only Bass made a good save. It's certainly a funny old game
Not comparable. If it were a good save, the rebound wouldn’t have been an option. It was a lucky save from a poor penalty. And thus had the appropriate result.
Both saves were totally different. The poster needs to watch both again and re evaluate
Hi Guys....I have re-watched it and I'm still sticking to my initial thoughts....whilst the quality of the penalties are quite different, both goalies go to their right early, too far in fact, their left trailing leg goes up( Archie's a lot higher of course) and their trailing left foot stops the ball going in the net. No rebounds allowed in penalty shoot outs but it wouldn't have been a tap in I grant you.
So many similarities IMHO.
