Ideally, he would be the best thing out there to take our national team forward but moneybags City will want to keep him.
According to the papers, who by the way don't always get it wrong are saying:
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, 53, has been sounded out by the Football Association about becoming England's next manager and is expected to decide on his future in the coming weeks. (Times)
Spaniard Guardiola is also considering signing a one-year contract extension to stay at City. (Telegraph)
Interim England boss Lee Carsley has been told he will not get the Three Lions job permanently. (Sun) No surprise on that one.

Too old and past it. We need to be looking elsewhere to someone more in touch with the modern game/players.
It will be interesting to see how this plays out because until a few weeks ago I think it was Carsley's job to lose. It isn't the awful Greece performance that has done for him, that can happen to anyone when experimenting,it is his truly awful dealings with the media. I have never in my life seen a manager so nervous, hesitant and incoherent during interviews as this guy.
or Arteta? Doing a grand job with the Gunners - play some great football
Hes had the choice of any player worldwide regardless of cost - he wont have that class of talent in numbers here - so will it be any bettet ??
Have to say I've no real interest in the way its currently played and run by the FA's boneheads.
Dull games , players full of themselves over rated - its goodnight from him 🤨
