local info for the trip to Bristol

Nice to see you have SOLD OUT the away end
There is no hard copy match day programmes any more, although the club has sanctioned an unofficial copy of a brochure.

In the home end there is football type programme for children, given away free.

TRAINS if your coming by train, please have your tickets issued to Parson Street as it helps us
try and get a new train station nearer to Ashton Gate and its normally the same price
Trains from London or the Birmingham direction arrive in good time for the XX:26 XX:54 past the hour
from Bristol temple meads to Parson Street
It takes you two thirds of the way to the ground and walk the rest of the way or catch the number 24 if you struggle to walk

Special bus's depart from Bristol temple meads to the ground on most match days not sure if they will run, will advise nearer the time.

If you use Parson Street, this will save negotiating the ticket gates/barriers at Bristol Temple meads
Our most famous player,John Atyeo, has a statue by the club superstore between the corner of the Lansdown and South stand.
The congestion zone has arrived which includes some areas around Ashton Gate, even the council don't like us.

    Coming by road.
Do NOT USE M4/M32 route and don't try to negotiate the roads and streets of Bristol
If you are coming by road use M4/M5 southbound to junction 18(Avonmouth) then follow signs A4 Bristol airport
It looks the long way round but its quicker.
Parking is normally in the streets around the area as long as you are there by 10:00am please don't block drive ways or park on corners.

Casualty and Holby City were filmed in the City don't ask me about either of the programmes because I think their both rubbish

The young ones was also filmed in the BS7 area of the City(actually its Bishopston)

Finally the block of flats on the left behind the Dolman stand side as you are in the away end is "the" block of flats in "fools and horses"

Bring your camera and turn up early if you want to take any photo's

Pubs not sure of which ones will be open, possibly best one are in the cumberland road basin area novia scotia pump house and the cottage.

BBC Radio station is radio Bristol which has frequencies and 94:9 and DAB.
and the match commentary will be on BBC radio Bristol
Please circulate to any other football forums and footy fans you may deem fit
If you need any further info, don't be afraid to ask

Nice one infoman of the Bristol City forum & the Fans Network platform.

The FansNetwork was created in 2010 by a group of individuals each with over 15 years experience in producing football websites. Their aim is to provide everything a fan could need to support their football club from the latest news, comment, forum banter, fixtures, blogs, polls, competitions and club statistics.

Great initiative & great contributing folks.
Thanks, your read made enjoyable reading on my evening work load midnight break.

OMFG, how much cotton wool is required?

Ok I appreciate the info, but seriously, how much is required by those with a few grey cells between their ears to do their own research?

Enclosed new avatar for a graphical representation of a user on a forum or other online community .......... for you 😉

Any information is appreciated for travelling to games for those who get off their arses and do it in these times when finding time to sitdown and organise travelling routes ..... so maybe a tad harsh.... and your Gazza avatar pulling that stunt is ok ..... after listening to your recent opinions on the demise of the games ethics ?
