    Swansea v Millwall

    Swansea v Millwall, Saturday Oct 26, 3pm
Are things as bad as they seem, well yes when you know the Bluebirds are only two points behind you in the table!
Seriously though we have to start scoring goals soon.
The margin between success and failure is small.
If we’d scored more goals we’d be up near the top by now. If we continue with more narrow defeats and draws there’s only one outcome.
Onto our first home game in three weeks and it’s the Lions of Millwall, fresh from their 1-0 home win against Rooney’s Plymouth on Wednesday night and a 1-1 home draw with Derby last Saturday, our out on loan player Jerry Yates scoring for Derby.
Millwall haven’t won in their five games away from home this season, scoring four goals and conceding six in their three draws and two defeats.
Swans are unbeaten in their five home games, scoring six goals and conceding two in their two wins and three draws.
Neil Harris’s side had the better of us in our final fixture at home last season, winning by the odd goal after Grimes had missed a penalty and Yates was sent off together with their centre-back for an off the ball clash.
Hopefully our goal drought will come to an end and we’ll get back to winning ways.

Lovely sunny spring-like morning boys, perfect weather for a football match.
I was just reading about the Swans long drawn out journeys for our two away matches -

    Swansea 0 - Millwall 1 (De Norre 90’)
The Millwall jinx struck again as the banjo Swans missed the barn door again, 16 shots and counting. Last time Millwall won away was the final game of last season, yes Swansea the opponents and yes a late goal deciding the match in Millwall’s favour. This time Swans unbeaten home record went as well.
Very worrying this poor run, no wins in the last 6 games, as we slip down the table, and it’s hard to see where we go from here.

“We’re gonna win today, I feel it in me bones.“ ……… that prediction went well didn’t it.
I am getting worried now that this is not just a blip. Either the players recruited are not good enough or LW game tactics and weird substitutions are not working. The last 15 mins we played without a recognised striker and our best player Franco was subbed. Grimes is also playing too deep and we need him higher up the pitch to create chances.

I share your concerns guys. The worst goal drought since 1996, what is going on? There were more chances created yesterday than recently, 16 shots on goal and nothing to show for it. It ended up with a rare mistake from Vigouroux to undo us. The boos at the end showed the fan’s frustration. The only saving grace is that the defence is pretty solid but if you can’t score you’re not going to win matches. It needs sorting quickly before we slip into the bottom three, only two points away. Oxford away and Watford home up next, a free week ahead until next Saturday to get some shooting practice on the training ground.
