    Phillips

Phillips again getting grief, now from Ipswich who are saying they’re amazed at his lack of mobility and fitness, seemingly want him gone, they reckon his head is still at Leeds. Shame his career has gone downhill the minute he left us, and I’m not being sarcastic, was good to see raphina hit a hat trick for Barcelona last night, was superb for Leeds, brilliant player.

He needs the game in front of him not having to turn and chase - probably not helped by having Morsey in the middle with him either.

Bielsa’s fitness regime coupled with knowing how to play him got the best out of him. Think he would be a half decent CB as he can read the game.

    Feel for the lad.

Rapha was always going to go on to bigger and better things and has turned into a super star.

Rumoured to want a return to ER, with Ipswich sending him back to Schitty at some point.

Ship has sailed, bed made, lie on it. We have players at ER with the requisite skills and even greater potential, if only Farke would give them game time

Wouldn’t want him back to tarnish the memories of how good he was for us. Seems a little lost at the moment.

Can’t see where he’d fit in to be honest, or be of any benefit, like I said, all a bit sad, under bielsa he was superb and an England starter every time.

Watched the Ipswich v Villa game on Sky last month and thought he had a pretty decent game to be honest.

Sad to see him struggle , shame he decided to leave but he has somewhat wasted his career at Citeh.
When you get the chance to triple your wages I suppose its a no brainer.

As for him coming back , Ship has well and truly sailed.

P.S. Summerville just put the spammers 1 up against scum.

In truth Kalvin did not fit into the City model as they signed a player their Coah Pep did not really want.......from the City point of view the only positive was that at least he was not playing for one of their rivals at that time.

When he emerged at Leeds under Bielsa it was not just his range of passing but how quickly he could play the pass...... in reality that capacity to assess the disposition of teammates was down to the well drilled movements Bielsa had drummed into the whole team........ so Kalvin knew exactly where each pass was going and who to, regardless of the opponents on the pitch, Bielsas unique repetative training routines made that easy for him to choose his options.

Yes he did well for us....... but easy to forget that Phillips had suffered a slight decline in form towards the end of his final season at Leeds....... injury aside he was getting sussed in the role Bielsa developed for him even then and his confidence dipped.
.........at Leeds Bielsa was one of those who just put an arm around him and let him know that he believed in him......... and we know what happened next..... for me Kalvin needs to start believing in himself and to play in a lower tempo league into getting back on track but I am not sure he would have the mental attributes to move environments to another country either....... so yes, I feel for him as he appears to be a decent bloke who is still searching for his inner self regardless of his bank account.

I would be tempted to take him back - depending on the wage bill, which may be prohibitive.

City seemed to sign him in part to stop him going to a rival.

Don’t think he would fit i to how we now play and would prefer to keep the memories of how good he was for us rather than replace them with how he now plays.
