That's one part of our recent history that doesn't need regurgitating, and won't tell us anything we don't already know. Won't be watching
Apologies if this has already been discussed on here. I've only just heard about it...
"The extraordinary exploits of convicted fraudster Russell King will be recounted in King of All Cons (WT), a feature doc that has just gone into production. Emmy-nominated Dash Pictures is making the film with Sky in the UK and Matthew Lorenzo Productions, the indie set up by the titular Lorenzo, a former Sky Sports presenter."

Whatever happened to Russell King? Is he still 'in business' or did someone catch up with him and sort him out?
In the excellent BBC podcast series 'Sport's Strangest Crimes', the one about Notts entitled 'Trillion Dollar Conman' had King being confronted in 2022 at his house near Southampton by Beeston's own Alice Levine via his video doorbell.
The presenter, forced to put the accusations to the fraudster through the video doorbell, said: "Russell King you've ruined a lot of people's lives, this is your opportunity to put your side of the story forward.
"A lot of people would love to hear what you have to say. Mr King people have been devastated by your actions, do you feel any remorse?
"Do you ever think about Gil? Duncan Hickman's widow? You left her and her son with absolutely nothing.
Do you ever think about the Notts County fans even? You took their club to the brink of oblivion. Mr King there's a lot to discuss."
If you haven't listened to it yet I'd highly recommend it. All 6 episodes are still available here:

Thanks for this (^^^), I'll take a look. In your earlier reply you indicated he'd done some jail time, which fact had passed me by. My only puzzlement about that was that he'd been released. They should have thrown away the key.
I don't think I ever listened to the last part of that BBC radio series. It was very well done and fascinating but I found it too depressing from about half way through, knowing how it turned out in the long run.
As odious a person as RK undoubtedly is, he could have inadvertently set the wheels in motion to restore us to yo-yoing between tiers 2 and 3 had the right person picked up the pieces when the opportunity was there to do so. I don't feel personally that the question "Do you ever think about the Notts County fans even? You took their club to the brink of oblivion." is relevant. Supporters didn't suffer because of him. You could even claim the opposite. Small businesses involved with the club presumably did suffer, but we got a promotion out of it, were on the pitch celebrating staying up a year later and then just missed out on the play offs the year after that having drawn 3-3 at the Spitty Ground. There has to come a point where it's other people's responsibility for how things panned out over the longer time frame and Trew made enough mistakes to be that person, albeit saddled with the Munto debt.
