It is puzzling.
I'd take a couple of fouls in the box. worth it to let the keep know we aren't patsies and maybe their start hearing footsteps like Meslier does sometimes.

why dont we put pressure on opposition goalies from corners ? every other team seams to put a guy on goal line so meslier cannot see or jump

Firstly welcome to the Forum.... nice to see a new face on here.
Often seen your question asked and clubs medical departments information may help you..... injury risk and injury patterns vary by playing position with goalkeepers having a lower overall risk of injury but a higher relative risk of concussions than field players who suffer mainly from thigh and knee injuries........ knee injuries cause the most time-loss and medical attention from data I have seen from my sons club in France.
Injury location by match or training does appear almost 10 times higher in match conditions rather than training injury incidence...... with minor injuries of 1-3 days of time being the most common..... so from a goalkeepers perspective and team perspective in his experience...... corner routines are not practiced to often as corners are swung in at differing angles and heights to keepers not being challenged in training....... basically no contact endured as the training for corners is individualised into the delivery and clearance repetitive routines only.... obviously ball clearance routines are then individualised into who receives the cleared ball via positioning which in training is again individualised into that set of players responsibilities.
Looking at our injury list and types of injury then maybe some reluctance to put players into direct contact situations within the corner set plays.
Hope this perspective helps.

An alternative take - we appear to have turned one 😎
Agreed, and having watched quite a few PL matches it's notable that PL teams tend not to adopt that tactic. I suspect that teams think (rightly) that they will get away with it when playing Leeds (again, it doesn't seem to feature in other matches not involving Leeds).
What representations has the club made to the EFL regarding how Meslier is treated (both by the opposition and match officials)? During the match is club captain entitled to challenge (irrespective of what happens in any particular circumstance)? Perhaps the club should be more forthright in protecting our keeper (Meslier, Darlow or a.n.other), during the match and off the field of play?
My understanding is Leeds have raised the issue..... last season.
Without Var the matter will not be stopped and yesterday Trevor Birch, the chief executive of the EFL, has revealed there are no plans to discuss the introduction of VAR to the Sky Bet Championship despite recent glaring officiating mistakes..... recall Kiko Casilla targeted by same tactics ........ so no impending desire for officials to stop it.

Prefer the game without VAR tbh
Mrs O
you seem to have a lot of knowledge of some inner workings of the game.
Serious question for you. Not just stirring the pot. Why does it seem that Championship has such poor, and candidly sometimes, biased officials? As a former ref here across the pond I know a little about officiating and it really is stunning just how many "bad days" I've seen in the championship. It's not just Leeds. Some of these games that official becomes a big part of the action. I have no idea what kind of compensation, training or grading they get but do find it hard to believe that the issue can't be addressed better. if nothing else, give the teams the right to de select certain officials. I think you can understand that some refs have implicit bias (whether they know it or not) and it's not unreasonable to let a team have a certain amount of strikes to use over the course of a season.
It's also unfortunate that the FA does not seem to measure there officials or take input from the coaches/teams. Any enterprise that does not grade or give the members a say so is bound to have problems over time.
FWIW, I do hope the championship never picks up VAR. Such a better product to watch even with human error involved at times.
agree with that
