    January 2025 Transfer Window

    Assuming SE is allowed to stay on and preside over the January transfer window, what are the key positions he needs to address? We don't normally do too much business in this window and looking at the last few, there's very little quality that has come into the club, although some good players have left (Barlaser for instance).

    I personally think our current squad is not too bad in terms of quality - the style they're being forced to play doesn't get anywhere like the best out of them. So I'd be looking to offload players who offer the least quality;

    Hugill
    McWilliams
    MacDonald
    Phillips

    My priority for incoming would be;

    A midfield general in the style of Kelly but younger and fitter
    A centre forward in the Michael Smith mould who can hold the ball up and bring Nombe/Wilkes into play
    A young keeper with potential to develop into the first team.

    We also need to resolve the Osong situation. If for any reason he isn't willing to play, return him and get in another loanee forward.

    Didn't rate Green before his injury. McGuckin can only judge him if he gets game time.

    Didn't you judge Lamy on less than the 45mins McGuckin got on Friday? On that basis how did he do, future International or future glass collector?

    Warney * Lamy up. Evans can see him not giving McGuckin much of a chance. Lamy was a right sided player Warney played him on the left. Chieo could have played on the left.

    Gru, if you're going to swear at least put the right number of asterisks or else it doesn't make any sense. There aren't any one letter swear words.

    For Example, this doesn't make any sense: Only a * would think Warney * Lamy up. Moaning that he was a right sided player on the left, then suggesting another right sided player could play on the left instead makes no * sense.

    Osong is injured this has been reported multiple times by the club, he has a groin injury

    Priority investment has to be in the coaching and getting young Duncan on a professional contract.
    I think Humphrey’s and Tiehi will leave in January and I hope the club can come to an agreement for Hugill to leave, it wouldn’t surprise me if we didn’t lose 5 or 6 in January, with less coming. This season has been all about reducing the playing staff and working to a tight budget, following the loss of the championship income.

    I knew someone back then he told me Morris was going before anyone knew. I asked him about Lamy before he was loaned out. He said he's going won't be back said Warney says he doesn't give cover to his full back. He was on wrong side he wasn't a wide left player. Tell me any of our wide players who did? Chieo when he was 1st here on right his natural side was a liability defending. Lamy had natural talent but Warney destroyed his confidence not playing him in his preferred position.
