    Players- Days off cancelled.

After team meetings, it was noted several players were way out of form so, Evans has told the team everybody has to attend extra training sessions with no days off during the international break.

How does this assist those 'carrying' injuries? Anyay, judge for yourselves with the attachment below.

A lot of people who wanted Evans back did so because he is 'no nonense'. They'll probably think giving players a b*llocking and cancelling days off is strong management. Quite a few of those fans will lap up quotes like this and Evans knows it, he's playing to 'his' crowd.

Personally I think he's in danger of further alienating a squad who already don't look like they're playing for him.

How would you have reacted if he had said he was giving them all time off and they had no need to do extra training?

Wouldn't bother me at all, it's standard practice for clubs to give players a few days off at the start of an international break.

There is no reason for them to have a few days off , it's their job . What would happen if everyone had a few days off for the international break .

    'Everyone' isn't a football player.

Most people get Christmas off and feel a bit of benefit from the down time. Footballers don't.

The whole thing looks like posturing.

TS gives SE a dressing down, SE stops the days off, and the fans get that everyone is serious about the position we're in.

In reality, TS and SE will be clear about what the expectations were/are, and the players weren't likely to be having days off in the sense they'd be binge-eating and lazing around on their XBox - they'll still be eating well and doing some training of their own, just not the same drills, tape, intensity as 'at work'.

Training regimes in 2024 should take into account fitness, strains, etc, so I'd imagine (or hope) that anyone carrying a knock would have already had their regimes adjusted to account for it.

Feels like a non-story designed to give the fans a bit of a fuzzy feeling that they're as pissed off as we are.

I agree but isn't it simply a case of damned if they do, damned if they don't?
