    Lineker - stepping down

News just broke that Lineker is stepping down from MOTD at the end of this season.

Who do we think will take over?

I was sure it would be Jenas till all that stuff came out about him.

Ah, gutted. I think he's been fantastic in the role. I know lots of folk don't like him because of his politics but-and this won't surprise any of you-they align with mine so I like him even more.

(and on that note, I hate Jeremy Clarkson's politics but think he's fantastic on telly...work that one out )

    I think-and hope-it'll be Mark Chapman.

I have to say - I've not been impressed with Lineker and his politics, I feel, regardless of being of left-right bent he has allowed them to influence his sporting presentation and perceptions.

However, I do think he'll be a loss.

Chapman is a great shout as a replacement, def could get behind that.

Please God, not Lampard or Southgate!!!

Don’t know, maybe a change of format, with a panel to include a former referee in there too?

Possibly a non football host to keep them in check? Gabby Logan maybe? Or total curveball and Frank Skinner

On another note… I did really like Lineker! He’ll be a tough act to follow.

Chappers is probably gonna get it. Boring as dishwater but a safe pair of hands.

My personal favourite and the best presenter MoTD had was Colin Murray. However, the BBC just hated his laddy cheeky personality and attitude. They got him out the door as soon as they could.

What is the license fee paying for these days? It's literally fraud.

Colin Murray is superb at whatever he does.

He has that gift of making you feel like a mate is talking to you. I used to listen to him every night when he was on during lockdown and it was a massive help. Was gutted when he stopped his late night slot on 5Live-was a brilliant listen; ditto Fighting Talk.

He's a top lad. He and I have mutual friends from his 5Live days. Had a few beers with him many moons ago.

He a sports nut, massive knowledge, great sense of human and great banter. The Woke BBC's anti-Christ!

My money is on them selecting one of those lebso Ex-Lionesses. No issue with anyone's ***uality before anyone chimes in, I just don't want EDI to infect the last bastion of masculinity broadcast on the BBC.

They're on every other panel show etc. It seems we can't have a single thing for just men anymore.

Odds on it’ll be a female presenter. The BBC can’t help but push its social agenda.
