    A few honest questions

Should we be better in defence?

Should we be better out wide?

Should our strikers hit the target more often?

Why did the manager turn his tactics on their head?

Expectations? Are we wrong to match the expectations of our owners?

As Freer used to say, answers on a postcard (postage stamp).

Yes - remember the 10 game run in the first season, won 8, drew 2 and conceded very few in open play.

Yes - Watkins hasn't been getting much service this season

Don't know how they compare to the rest of the league but give them more chances we will score more goals as per the above point.

Do you mean in general or vs Palace? (only caught the first half) In general - we were the surprise package last season and clubs have worked out how to play against us, as a result we are not winning in the corresponding fixtures vs last season so I would expect tactics to change?

Expectations - no it's not wrong, the owners have created them in the first place, it does however take time to bridge the gap to the levels of the top clubs and sustain it.

Freer - if you're reading this hope you're ok buddy.

OW's supply line has changed from out wide, to what now seems to be a more centric (through the middle) tactic. This supply line appears easier to thwart, as our poor distribution lets us down. Maybe Duran, who can conjure up his own chances should get a few more minutes.

The back 4 has changed so many times this season, it’s no real surprise that it’s all over the place. That and Carlos is a liability. If he doesn’t fk up, some will say that he’s played a blinder, and Pau would be better at CDM. If Mings can keep his hands in his pockets, then he and Konsa at CBs.

Bailey showed signs against Juventus which was encouraging. Rogers? Can we carry him for 89 mins (where we could be 3 down) for an outside chance that he might produce an end product?

Oh, I don’t know! What stupid questions.

Bailey is more effective when he has a proper RB to work with, and the return of Kamara makes us a far more balanced unit with better protection for the back 4. Rogers form has dipped significantly, he needs to move out wide and compete with Ramsey, let Barkley & Tielemans battle it out for the 8 role & put McGinn up with Ollie.

If no RB, then Bailey for me has to sit out - it doesn't work

Absolutely as we were a lot better in defence last season etc n the goals against so far is bottom 6 standard..

Yes definitely and it?s a worry how the last 6 or so games we don?t score enough and Duran has lost his super sub tag now and Olly just needs to many chances at moment, today against Chelsea just before half time the chance he had could have changed the game but he snatched at it and keeper saved..

Yes we should n think bidace needs a run as he was ok at times today against Chelsea and Bailey isn?t really performing but feel that we need someone else as well tbh. Roger?s been great until last 5/6 games and we miss Ramsey imo.

Don?t know really but it?s a reality we?re in cl but on current form we won?t be next season, end of day my expectations are top 6 n competing in cl n maybe grab a cup which is obviously fa cup now but if we lose or draw to Brentford in week I honestly don?t see any of above happening.

Think we need a proper shake up, mings for Torres, Young lad for cash as he looked lost today at times n wonder whether his confidence is shot.. buandia for Roger?s , Duran for Watkins ,

    Sorry for rant lol

Good to have some ranting Dazzy mate, vs Chelsea I really felt like it was the same old Villa have returned - it was nice for a while to think we had a good chance of coming out on top in most games.

Mings - agree, Torres is not a CB for this league, I thought Cash did ok, he had to deal with the overload at times and Bidace looked like a boy amongst men. The Watkins attempt almost squirmed under the keeper, who had a good game, he's having to do it all on his own and I think he could go up there with Duran who for me always looks bright when he comes on. I don't rate Buendia, too lightweight and we don't have enough muscle already in this side.

7 games without a win is probably rantworthy Dazzy! Dont want to lose Torres passing ability, hence suggesting a bit back 3 central defenders with Tyrone in the middle of the 3 all of our current fullbacks could do the wingback job at some level which leaves us with Kamara plus 1 to defend midfield and youri to pull the strings further upfield, aided by Torres linking the passing from the back. Its how we played last season when at our best, quick incisive passing from back to front, we have stopped doing that and its a BIG part of where we are going wrong in my humble.

I think we are missing Diaby. Bailey needed to earn his spot. Phologine doesn't seem like a like for like replacement yet.

Bailey isn't the same player as last season, it's leaving Cash defending against 2 opponents - Philogene isn't a PL player but I hope I'm proven wrong here.
