He has a (very strained) point which only applies to the extreme low end of family incomes. However he's going on like 50 quid is a weeks wages to the vast majority of people when it just isn't. Maybe 30 years ago it was a fairly significant amount of money but these days it's loose change to most people. Of course there will be some that will think it's just too much but Mr. Sensible is absolutely on point when he says it's the excuse making mob that will use it - the ones that find an excuse, any excuse, not to go to games.

Good example of a guy earning over 70k PA saying the jump from 2 quid to 50 quid is too much for a kid's season ticket so not paying it - beyond belief.

If someone is really really struggling, you aren?t shelling out ?400 for an adult season ticket, so bringing the kid arguement into it is pointless.

What has crept in to society over the last 15/20 years.... especially in Scotland.....is this woah is us mentality where everybody is struggling and those that patently aren't struggling get off on telling everyone not everybodies well off......it's the working class equivalent to middle class white guilt.

As Mr Sensible says it's ?3 per game.

If you really want to give free kids season tics let's add the cost onto OAP tics.......meltdown central.

With an ageing support adding the cost of free season tickets for kids would be financial suicide for the Dundee FC board of directors.
I am surprised that the Keyes Charitable Foundation is not paying for the cost of free kids season tickets.
During the 2018-19 season the Keyes Charitable Foundation donated one hundred thousand pounds to the Dundee FC Community Trust to purchase season tickets and match day tickets for Dundee supporters in financial difficulties.

One thing I fundamentally disagree with is adult concession tics, the adult concession shud be 18 to 25 when most fans start to drift away.......I would also offer some sort of ongoing discount for continuing to buy a season tic after 25.

I think the pension age based concession is because the earning capacity is lower. Not sure that all pensioners should be treated the same, but look how difficult it is to operate any system on a means test basis.

What would happen if we had a flat rate ST for everyone apart from say under 21? Might be a simple arithmetical answer. Divide the ST money by the number of ST holders and see what figure comes out.

Earnings lower, outgoings lower.....I've never been so well off since I stopped working.

No wonder the younger generation are fairly resentful.....Cannae really blame them.

And it's so easily abused, very few people over 50 buy adult match day tics and why should they when very well AFF 60 plus year olds are getting reduced entry.

There is no overall answer to pricing that will satisfy the income requirement of the club and work for all sections of the support. As a pensioner myself I am lucky enough to have a work pension in addition to the state pension and therefore it wouldn't bother me to have to pay full adult prices but I of course realise that all pensioners are not as well off. I will however talk in general terms when I suggest that overall pensioners are not the most in need of price reductions. After 40 years working in finance my, again admittedly general, view is that the group most struggling are the young family man/woman trying to juggle mortgage/rent payments, puting food on the table, meeting all the costs of having young children and deciding if they can afford to go to the football. A good proportion of pensioners do have second pensions, triple locked state pensions and free travel etc. that leaves them with far more disposable/entertainment income than the mentioned young family man. Not all I agree but means testing prices for attending the football ain't going to happen so there is no other way to look at things other than in general terms.
I'm all for free or almost free entry for the very young, then maybe a youths/young adults price up to late 20s then scrap the pensioners discount and have one tier for all other adults. The young adults price would incorporate students taking away that price tier too. The foregoing 'solution' won't help all but might be a fairer way again in general terms.
