    After match thoughts - Stockport

Stockport were worth the win today. A match too far on the limited squad but still it was a good first half.
We played some nice stuff at times whilst also playing with mistakes.
The refereeing was different but not to blame for the loss in any way.

A tired team left the field having given their all again!

Lost our shape second half, I think we are running on a empty tank.

I thought we more than matched them in the first half and could have had a second goal before they equalised.
Stockport were the better team in the second half although we did put together some encouraging sequences of play without really creating any decent chances.
Sibley was off it today but he still works harder than Mpanzu who mainly just strolls about and obviously thinks he's better than he actually is.
Stockport's second goal kind of summed him up.
This group of players have given a lot for Hamshaw and quite a few were running on empty towards the end of today's game but I still think the majority of them shouldn't be here next season.

Good for 20 minutes then crumbled. Stockport won that not because they are more skilful but because they were much more aggressive all over the pitch. Our midfield was absent. Sibley invisible, Kelly was too slow and weak and he's not going to get any faster or stronger now. I felt sorry for Joe Powell having to clear up for them. It was men against boys in midfield second half. What does Holmes offer.? Nothing persona but we need to, and must do far better than him next year. Ref let a lot go, including two good penalty shouts from us

Just listened to MH interview after the game what a breath of fresh air he is told it like it was giving reasonable explanations what went wrong why and what can be done to put it right
No throwing anyone under the bus to be fair he didn?t go overboard (like us! when we won 3 in a row and same now we?ve lost 1 we now have 4 games we could have a decent go at and see where we end up we are now safe bar a substantial turnaround from Bristol Rovers in 4th bottom spot
We must offer him the gig full time we won?t do better except one of those merry go round managers anyway he gets the club and how TS works is local a fan and is passionate he?s got a good head on his shoulders and is knowledgeable in how he comes across
    TS don?t blow it!

Not seen any but we're safe. Holmes release end of the season. Go 4-3-3 rest of the season Humphreys in midfield no Mpanzu. Odoffin Douglas central defenders. Finish the season best we can for MH.

Holmes has not been out of place for the last 4 games

Very good first half; disappointing finish, but not surprising given the lack of personnel and the fact Stockport didn't have a midweek game.

Excellent to see more football being played from the back, but what makes the last defender think he can dribble his way out of a situation? We have seen massive improvements under Hamshaw, but I don't want my L1 defenders thinking they are Bobby Moore (not that I imagine any of them would know who he was).

Should Dawson take the blame for the second goal? I think so. The keeper should be the dominant personality in situations where he has the chance to claim the ball. Dawson has been excellent recently, but he strikes me as being most comfortable on his line, and not aggressive enough in winning the ball.

    Wilkes continues to frustrate.

From potential match saving penalty shout to their third decisive goal in a matter of seconds. That's football!
Today was a match too far after the effort and energy of the last ten days. Expecting a lot to win all last four matches. This is still the team that took 0, 1 and 1 point off Crawley, Shrewsbury and Burton.
