Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Birmingham City

The consensus is that the team are playing reasonably enough but lack the killer touch in front of goal and are always going to struggle to keep a clean sheet meaning we need to score at least two goals to win a game .

There was a clean sheet and a good point at Wrexham in the bag until Clarke decided to bring on Pines for what ever reason and unsettled the defensive shape !!

The longer this goes on then when opportunities present themselves it's going to become even harder to take them , this is as much in the mind as it's anything else .

I suspect chances may well be at a premium tomorrow and we'll do well to not concede to a Birmingham side with some very decent attacking players .

1-0 to Barnsley then , it's very much that type of inconsistent season .

Will miss this one flying back from the Blanca, I may catch the second half weather permitting.
Can’t see us getting much out of this one, a draw at best, I hope I’m proved wrong.

Yep - I?m gunna miss this one - darn London until end of next week.
But to be honest - I?m not that bothered.
It might be a reprieve from living through another episode of WTH did I just see.

We had our differences on here last season.
Shads et al was blaming recruitment for the poor form - whilst I was blaming the HC, Collins.

This season I?m blaming partly the recruitment and also the HC.

What we are witnessing IMO is dreadful.
Basically, as far as what I?ve seen so far this season, we have a set of players that are generally better than owt else in this league.
Unfortunately we haven?t got a HC that is able to get these players working as a unit.
Its not the paint drying bored to death football of last season - but it?s still a long way from being attractive exciting football.

On top of that - recruitment FAILED to fill the gaps left by Cole and McAtee.
We brought in Dunn and Humphrys that should be good additions - but these are not strikers - they are players that create opportunities - they arn?t out and out strikers.

    So then recruitment.
Like Shads says - we don?t want to hear players being slagged off because of where they have come from.
If Barnsley hadn?t got a history of identifying rough diamonds and selling them on for big money then there maybe an argument there.
But that is not the case.

However - something has gone wrong with recruitment in the last couple of seasons eg Collins, Clarke, lack of strikers this season etc - and this coincided with James leaving recruitment.

I honestly believe we have gone backwards in the last two seasons.
The club needs a total reset.

Other than the two teams and the officials I actually think the weather might have the biggest say in the outcome of this fixture , over the years we have all been to games where severe conditions have created bizarre goals , created unforeseen errors and generally dictated the outcome of a game, now at this stage I do not know how bad the weather is going to be but it seems that it is going to be very rough , lets hope that it is not as bad as predicted and going on that I will stick by my prediction of a 1 v 0 win to the Super Reds , we will see .

If fans are gerrin p1ss wet through sat out in the ESL, lower seats in Ponte, WSL there should be a PA announcement informing fans they can move free of charge to the nearest undercover seating area.

    Match day experience. Spectemur Agendo.

Cole hardly scored a goal after January and McAtee wasn't our player , McAtee actually missed chances galore throughout the season .

YN's selective memory at play again I think Shad .

Makes yer wonder why he didn?t score many after they told him they weren?t renewing his contract.
    It?s a bit of a conundrum that.

We can?t continually keep posting we can?t score - as you did in the initial post.
Without suggesting why we arn?t able to score.
