    O/T:- Petition

    https://petition.parliament.uk/petitions/700143

Surely people couldn?t be requesting another vote as people didn?t know what they were voting for? Has a petition like this ever happened before ?

A bit of context, quote of the petition:

    "Call a General Election
I would like there to be another General Election.

I believe the current Labour Government have gone back on the promises they laid out in the lead up to the last election."

I wouldn't want another General Election yet.

Firstly, I think ANY Government, whether they're my political flavour or not, deserves a chance to be judged on its performance over a longer period of time than a few months.

Secondly, I don't think any of the challengers for power have yet had time to get themselves into ideal shape, so to thrust them into a governing situation now would be counter-productive. Kemi Badenoch, for example, has a lot of sorting out to do within the Conservative ranks to ensure that the candidates who would be the new MPs behind her on the Government benches in a few years time are more ideologically reliable than the jumbled assortment of careerists and imposters that were on the Conservative benches in recent years.

To be honest that last bit could apply to any of the governments in the past? Stinks of the Remoaners, Democrats and the Scottish Independence bed wetters who didn?t get their own way. It?s done, make the best of it and move on.

Agreed. I'm a great believer in democracy, winner wins, loser doesn't. If you don't like this Gov, make sure you get off your arris and vote next time.

How will a person voting for a party which lies so boldly as this one has, make them feel any better? It would arguably make you feel worse, them having conned you out of your vote?

It's one thing when a government says they will do things, stopping the boats for example though in reality they can't but when they are elected on specific things that they won't do, certain tax increases for example, it make no difference how many people vote when they are blatantly, lied to. Conservatives had been so bad that most people expected them to lose so maybe didn't vote on that basis, whether or not those stay always would have made a difference is unknown. The stay-aways might be called Scrodinger's voters, we can know how many there were but not how they would have voted, unlike Brexit where there were just two options (I think?)

This whole Labour lot, just stink of dishonesty from Reeves' CV to their manifesto lies. Most governments are at least a little bit sneaky in avoiding what they promised but this lot have bold facedly, told outright lies to get elected and not even had the decency to try and do it discreetly.

Aside from the dishonesty, we have all the woke crap to look forward too as well as now, having to self sensor online or in some cases, resist, offering an opinion at all, fearing the Stalinist type, 'late night knock' and just as under Stalin, it is the public themselves, mostly of a certain stripe, who are contorting themselves to report people.

Why not have another vote on Brexit while we are at it?
A lot of people feel betrayed.

It makes no difference. Digital tyranny is the end goal and the public will fall for it every step of the way - be that through woke sloganeering, the promise to crack down on illegals, shoplifting and benefit fraud, weaponising health or an outside threat to security. There is no voting your way out of this.

I was being ironic on another vote as this government was voted in and should serve its term. The Brexit 2nd vote debate is surely over isn?t it?

Labour will simply say they have been forced to do these things by the 22 billion pound 'black hole' in public finances that the Tories hid.

It's up to you whether you believe it or not.
