    Motherwell (A)

    Massive match tomorrow.

I think we should come out and say that we can now raise our sights for this season

The initial aim was avoiding relegation

Now with the squad we have and the results we have got we should be aiming for top 4 and Europe

This is a huge match for getting top 4 - 2 points between us and Motherwell and this is a 6 pointer

With Ferry suspended maybe we go back to the 3-4-3 and get some balance by having wide players that can track back

    Walton

    Manny Gall Holt

    Strain Sevelj Babunski Middleton

    Luca Sam D Miller T

That was part of my thinking last weekend, so after that result i think we should temper our expectation a wee bit, especially since they have already beaten us twice this season.

Think there should be the minimum of changes with Middleton in for Ferry. And while it is mentioned in a few places that Dalby and Moult didnt really click, you cant expect them to make a partnership by swapping either of them out after a week.

    Cmon United!

Dalby and Moult linked up really well in the cup game against this lot so wouldn't rule out them playing together tomorrow. Just hoping for 3 points anyway anyhow really.

My concern is them getting that last gasp winner, could completely change their mood and confidence for our visit plus the Ferry suspension

Still think we have enough to get atleast a point, I think a point would be not a bad outcome, keeps others at length but a win would be a fantastic result because although we have Celtic after that, Motherwell have them on Boxing Day too

Motherwell don't tend to draw though, 7 wins 7 defeats and 1 draw

Def think last weeks result puts more pressure on us tomorrow. As for season aspirations, once we get those seven games in three weeks out the way over festive period then I think you can make a judgement. We have tough games and light squad, if we hit a duff period with 21 PTS up for grabs, you could see dramatic shift in our position. 3 PTS tomorrow would give us a big lift going into those fixtures.

Maybe 442 Middleton in front of Holt who could go left back. Graham back in at centre back?

Holt and Graham are good centre backs but don?t know if they have the engine or movement for being wing backs

I suppose the big call today is whether Moult gets fitted in

Doc really must get himself fit - he could be useful over festive period

Agree with this but not sure about the light squad. Considering we have been missing Doc, Trap, Graham, Strain, Moult, Sibbald etc for not just a game or two but extensive periods of time and that despite that we are where we are, is actually testament to a good depth in both numbers and quality to be able to cover all that and still get results. In many ways it’s a huge testament to the squad building that JG has achieved in a very short period of time.

Yeah, lots of options really. If Holt slots in for Ferry it probably needs to be as a left back in a 4. Hard to drop either Adegboyega or Gallagher for Graham, they've been magnificent.
3 points today would be massive for momentum and we should aim to go out and get them right from the first whistle. And furthermore I do NOT want us to be talking about VAR tomorrow 😎
