At what point will the fans shout his name in praise for what he has done. I know we are not playing champion league style football, but we are in a decent league position, footie no bad at times. young players getting a chance but not forced into things too quick, assembling a good squad and an improving support. Jim Goodwins tangerine army.
Big Jim has worked hard to build a squad fit for top flight. They are well drilled, and have a remarkable team spirit. He has recruited as well as any manager this century with a core of impressive performers from the get go. Can?t remember the closing of a transfer window when I felt confident in the squad assembled, that is down to the manager. Young players getting a chance, and he has reduced the wage bill. (Proportionally) We are top 6 on merit, and can get better still.
Can?t understand the post split collapse in 22/23 but cannot blame him, I blame the sh*tebag players who shafted 3 managers that season.
We will hit a difficult spell, I just hope fans can see how far we have come under JG and cut him some slack, he has earned that much.
In the mean time let?s look at the league table?.what a daisy!🌼
I think some forget that this team have played only 14 league games since forming with 13 new additions to the squad. And several of those games have had to be different formations and personnel because of injuries to the likes of Graham, Sibbald, Trapanovski, Moult.
The team is developing and getting to know each other, we wont play great every week for a while yet and even then it's not guaranteed. But as the season progresses I think we'll see more better performances than poor ones.
The manager is learning too and now knows when and how to change things up to get the result we need.
It's pretty impressive.
After the first 11 matches 16 points gained.
If only 9pts were got in the next 8 matches that would match the opening 16 pts in these 11 matches. A great opportunity to push on for a guaranteed top 6 and an outside look at Europe.
Kilmarnock
Motherwell (A)
Celtic
St Johnstone (A)
Aberdeen
Dundee (A)
Hearts
Celtic (A)
I expect more than 9pts from those games.
obvs get humped x2 by the green huns, but the other 6 are all winnable
JG is doing a fantastic job.
We should definitely be singing his name 🎶
For newly promoted side this is great and long may it continue
Jim Goodwin's tangerine army should be widely used these days
I know we'll have a lean spell but to have navigated 7 games now missing 4-5 starters (certainly before they got injured) taking 11 pts has been impressive
I've been convinced for awhile now he is the man for the long term just didn't want to drone on about it, I hope we can keep him here for a couple more years atleast as want to see what him along with Michael Carney can do over more windows as the summer has been a big success
14 pts off bottom after 14 games, we'd have all took that
He's doing amazingly well and it's great to see.
Although i did not like him as a player playing against us i do like him as a person.I'm really happy that he has put his Sheep sh@ggers nightmare behind him and resurrected his career at Tannadice. We are currently sitting only 3 points behind The Rangers and 13 points ahead of Hearts after 14 games, before the season started we would all be delighted if we were sitting 10th in our survival bid.
