Signings - for the next level.

Notts have improved in the last 12 months, and all the players were great over Christmas. If Notts were going to sign one real quality player, rather than shaping the current squad. Where would you strengthen?

I think a true exciting left wing back would balance us out so much

Tricky one that. Your title says for the next level so assuming you mean one star player in Jan easily good enough for league 1. If everyone is fully fit I?d have to say either a CM (as our best is currently on loan) or a no10 as our best 2 are out of contract at the end of the season and one quickly approaching 40yrs old.

We need some height and beef in centre midfield. We have it up front, we have it at the back but in the middle we have midgets

I?d agree with this on the premise we keep Abbott all season and bring in a competent striker.

A CM to compliment the more pathetic ones we have at the minute. I was thinking of Sarcevic but didn?t realise he is 32 now. I?m hoping Robbo turns out similar as we need some muscle and menace in the middle.

Palmer and Abbott are great at reading interceptions and pressing players but they rarely get into players, if that makes sense.

You want a midfielder with muscle and your reference point is ? Sarcevic 😂 The man whos played most his career as an attacking midfielder and whos lack of muscle and combativeness (pulling out of tackles) was the reason we scored 3 against Bradford in 4 minutes.

This board continues to baffle me

I think by now our recruitment will have identified CM as the area where we might not have promotion-level quality in the starting XI, but still good enough to not prevent us, if all other areas are performing to the max.

    We need:

A new striker to provide back up to AJ and possibly replace him directly if AJ moves on.
A new CM to replace Abbott when he returns to Spurs.
A new Forward to replace McG when he retires.
Probably a new AMC to replace Crowley when he moves on.

So lots of replacements really. It's going to be tough to replace that lot like for like.

As much as id love us to sign a big, shizhouse destroyer for midfield, i just can't see it happening under this recruitment team. They will go for another petite playmaker.

We need pace IMO. I'd like to see us strengthen out wide because Gordon isn't up to it and I'm not sure Tsaroulla is League 1 quality. Then we need a forward to replace Brown (although now Martin is coming good, this is less crucial) and a pacey striker.

We don't need to strengthen the defence...which is an unfamiliar but wonderful position to be in!

We also need a good, young keeper to be a new number 2.
