    Laughing stock

How much better are our defenders this year?
    It's like night & day
I remember several fans of other clubs asking me if I thought one or more of our defenders had been betting against their own side after this game

You have answered your own question. Night and day, the goals against column tells the whole league that. Helped by 3 signings in the summer that I suspect are in many fans top 5 performers of the season so far.

I had never seen those goals before, strewth! I remember the Swindon goals last season being particularly bad on viewing but those top the lot

Actually it is quite funny to look at those goals against and having the piss taken, shows that we can laugh at ourselves, take it on the chin and look at how we have come back to where we are now.

    Agreed
I was appalled watching the game at the time
Especially the first where Baldwin appears to fall deliberately and then lies there watching what follows

Fair play to SM as well. I don?t think it?s unfair to say the new guys perhaps weren?t as technically good with their feet when they signed and to have a new back line and keeper and keep us playing from the back mostly effectively so quickly I think he?s done alright.

The second one. What the hell is Baldwin doing? And the third? Lobbing the ball across your own area and then jogging aimlessly around while they score? ****ing awful.

    Fantastic Album from Talk Talk

Terrible concessions from Notts. We were truly awful defensively last season. As people have mentioned there has to be some credit to SM and the staff for that, not to mention Platt, Bass and Bedeau who have all been fantastic.

Very true. It's a remarkable turnaround.

Recruitment got it so right defensively with Bass, Platt, and Bedeau. Couldn't really have gone any better.

I remember most fans were in two groups, either it was all down to the way we played, or all down to our non league defence.

I think with hindsight it was clearly both, with the main emphasis on the non league defence.

We do take the safety option more regularly, but also have far better defenders. In fact, actual defenders.
