    Now everybody wants.....

... to be diagnosed with autism.

Seeing on the news this morning that adults are complaining because they want to be diagnosed with autism 'because their children have' but there's a long waiting list. Seemingly it's life affirming.

What the fk has this country become?

What about the carers allowance someone can claim as soon as that diagnosis is made? Is that included in your calculations?

Carers allowance is paid when the person you care for get enhanced rate of SADP ( auld PIP ).

It's approx ?74 per week but you can't earn more than ?150 per week to claim it.

So no it's not included.....basically because it's paid to carer and not cared for......but did you know you can both claim disability and both claim you are caring for the other despite claiming to have a disability.

Yes I did know that, I know a family who are all each others carers, father cares for daughter and daughter is fathers carer etc.

I find that ridiculous as only in exceptional circs can you claim to be so disabled to get enhanced rate but are well enough to care for someone else for at least 40 hours per week.

About six years ago a teacher told me that middle class parents need an excuse for their children being thick so they have them diagnosed with conditions such as Autism and ADHD.

The authorities must be very lax or in cahoots if they are letting a family who are all each others carers.
There will a financial benefit for this racket.

Sometimes teachers get it wrong, imo. There seems to be a culture that has turned against schools and education.
