    Burnley - v - Leeds United *** Matchday Thread***

    Burnley v Leeds United
    Monday 27th January 8:00pm | Turf Moor

Top of the table Leeds travel to Burnley on Monday evening, hoping to inflict defeat on the Clarets for the first time this season (at Turf Moor). With five points separating the top four, victory would not only guarantee top spot, but solidify their top dog status. However, they face formidable opposition, expertly managed by Scott Parker, whose defensive prowess (stats wise) is among the best in the Country. They are unbeaten in 15 games, and have only conceded nine league goals all season.

Leeds have received positive news regarding defender Pascal Struijk, whose hamstring scan revealed no tendon damage, paving the way for a return to team training next week and freeing up Ethan Ampadu to return to midfield. Junior Firpo and Ilea Gruev are edging closer to full fitness after completing 30 minutes (each) in the 2-0 victory over Norwich City midweek.

Patrick Bamford is still undergoing treatment for a troublesome hamstring injury, and is not due back for a couple of weeks. Max Wober was an unused substitute against the Canaries; but as long as Sam Byram is fit, he moves down to third in the pecking order.

Burnley will be without a number of key players, with Jordan Beyer, Aaron Ramsey, Enock Agyei, Manuel Benson, and Nathan Redmond all ruled out for the fixture. This setback leaves Parker with a depleted squad as they prepare to host what is set to be a highly anticipated and fiercely contested match.

The good news is the FA hates both programs so they will probably officiate badly for both teams. They?ll try to make it unwatchable so both sets of supporters will suffer

We have been lucky on that front Alf every game we come up against a team that has numerous first team regulars out. Even last game they had 9 missing. We on the other hand had injuries but the players that came in are much better than the injured. I feel this game will go one way 1 nil to you as your defense is the best in the business! But I look at Melsier and it can also be a wipeout 3 nil. I also look at the level of this league and say wtf we would not be much good up top neither anyone else. I also hear Ange might be available soon lol They have turned on him after been on cloud nine last season. Fickle so called fans instead of encouraging the teams they degrade them.
