The lost art of the diving header

That fantastic cross from Jones in the second half was crying out for Jatta to take a chance and dive for it.

Andy Gray's diving header a few inches off the pitch, which won the FA Cup match for Everton in 1984 at ML against Notts in the dying seconds. I was there to see it
You'll never see anything like that again by a modern player.

I remember Brian Talbot's diving header for Ipswich Town in the FA Cup semi final at Highbury against West Brom in 1978.

Good old John Wile got bandaged up and played on, but Talbot was subbed off later on after suffering from blurred vision. They were tough then.

I remember Gary Chapman scoring a superb diving header against Rotherham. 1989 ish.

I was on the kop, remember it like yesterday.
The clubs remaining that year weren't strong, squeak past Everton and we could've won our 2nd FA Cup

Peter Reid dominating midfield in a sort of blizzard also stands out as a memory.

I remember Gary Strodder scoring a last-minute diving header away at Wycombe to equalise 1-1.

On that Jones cross - I was thinking at the time that Macca would have put that away. Exactly the sort of cross/opportunity he used to gobble up.

Away at Watford in the FA Cup (1972?). Jon Nixon scored with a tremendous diving header. We won 4-1
