    Stone gone. Contract cancelled.

    https://www.nottscountyfc.co.uk/news...--aidan-stone/

Aidan Stones contract has been mutually terminated to allow him to pursue opportunities closer to his family home in the south-west.

The goalkeeper, who has spent time on loan with National League side Boston United this season, departs with the clubs very best wishes for the future.

    Hope he does well.

Probably the best outcome for both sides. Sad that it didn't work out for Aiden at Notts, I wish him luck in his next venture.

Obviously wish the man all the best, not the worst keeper I have seen but never gonna get in ahead of Bass or even Slocombe... Best of luck Aiden and may you land on your feet again soon

It's a big shame for us and him that he didn't work out..!! Let's hope he finds a club and becomes the keeper we hoped he would be for us !!...Good Luck

Sorry it didn't work out for him. Hopefully he will be able to kick-start his career somewhere else.

Surprised this didn't happen at the start of the season as it was clear he was only going to go out on loan. Good luck to him, I think most goalies would have struggled with Baldwin and Rawlinson in front of them as they did last season.

When we signed him, a Vale fan I knew was gutted he left and said we?d signed a great keeper.
Confidence is such delicate thing, I can?t help but think being sent off 10 minutes into your debut could have had a lasting impact.
That said, he?s not a patch on Bass!

Way it?s worded he?s already found another club closer to home.
Wish him well but a keeper is only as good as the defence in front of him and let?s face it last seasons was abysmal so he never stood a chance.

I think his confidence was completely screwed last season. Had hints he could be a decent keeper for us but with that defence in front of him, he was always going to struggle. He's only young for a keeper as well so hopefully he builds back up again
