    Coventry - v - Leeds United *** Matchday Thread***

    Coventry City v Leeds Utd
Wednesday 6th [email protected] | CBS Arena

Leeds face a challenging trip to Frank Lampard's Coventry City on Wednesday evening, looking for their first victory in CV6 for almost 15 years.

Despite the 3-0 thrashing at Elland Road last September (courtesy of goals from Messrs Gnonto, Bogle and Piroe), the Sky Blues have always been somewhat of a bogey side for Leeds, though that's exactly what we said about Cardiff, and look what happened there! Fat Franks side currently top the form guide with four wins, a draw and a loss in their last six games, a point more than Leeds.

Leeds remain top of the pile, ten places and twenty-two points above the Midlanders. Daniel Farke's side will be riding high on confidence, particularly with Junior Firpo's dazzling return from injury, marked by a hat-trick of assists.
Manor Solomon, Dan James and Joel Piroe were outstanding too, and should keep their starting places head of Ramazani, Gnonto and Joseph.

The gaffer will be in no hurry to bring Pascal Struijk back to the starting line-up until he's completely ready. The 25yo has struggled from a niggling hamstring injury for the past five weeks. He managed fif**** minutes against Cardiff, and will start on the bench again midweek. Ethan Ampadu will continue to deputise. Patrick Bamford is still receiving treatment on his troublesome hamstring injury, and not due back for several weeks.

Matt Grimes could make his Coventry debut after his deadline day move from Swansea City, replacing Ben Sheaf in midfield, who has a muscular injury. Leading scorer Haji Wright (ankle) and midfielder Ephron Mason-Clark (hamstring) are still several weeks away from returning to action following respective injuries!

Win tonight should put pressure on those below us. Wonder if he will start with Ampadu at the back or in the middle.
