Romared Match Thoughts Barnsley v Huddersfield Town

The return of the Duffster and the majestic Herbie Kane tomorrow for extra added spice to a Yorkshire Derby .

I'm sure both will be welcomed back warmly from the Oakwell faithful !!! .

Looks very much like the last chance saloon to me the game tomorrow afternoon , a defeat and it's goodnight Vienna in my opinion with regards to the top 6 , a draw isn't really of much use and the victory gives a sense of hope .

As ever all 3 results wouldn't surprise anyone .

I suspect a bit of a good hiding from Micky's team tomorrow may well be too much for the already restless Oakwell fan base , it could get nasty .

Clarke will do well to survive a home thumping tomorrow with Hourihane on notice to step up I believe .

    Interesting afternoon ahead .

I was going to Headingley tomorrow to watch the mighty Trin open our Super League campaign against the Leeds Rhinos but alas I'm feeling like utter shyte with borderline flu / heavy cold .

Thankfully the game is on Sky Sports so that will be my choice tomorrow afternoon .

    Certainly a pivotal game.

Lose and we are nine points behind sixth-placed Huddersfield, who will also have a game in hand

Win and just three points behind.

Michael "I'm here for the long haul, I'm no fly by night" Duff, by his own words, should be still the Red's boss well into his project. Both manager's initial shine this season is a little tarnished but Clarke will probably get the most dog's abuse in a toxic atmosphere if the Reds suffer a bad defeat.

Having just injected another 3 million in share equity and fears of a dramatic collapse in Forthcoming Early Bird ST sales Parekh and Co will be watching with great interest

Everyone can forget the play offs , before a ball was kicked the majority on here were predicting mid table/top 10 and it is proving to be exactly that whilst our opponents were heavily backed to be there or there abouts automatic at worst play offs, they have invested heavily for the division and have a good manager although I think selling Helick might come back to bite them, currently they are on a sticky run but cream rises to the top and I expect them to get back on track , lets hope it is not today, gut feeling is a defeat for us but a draw would not surprise me , we will see.

    Huge game today.

I just hope we can get in their faces and play a quick game, both with the ball and our running.

I agree that playoffs look an outside bet looking at the table and our current form but I feel like if we lose today, it would be an actual nail in the coffin and any hope that I currently hold on to, would be gone.

Yes Nerf I agree. It's got to that stage hasn't it where there will be too much ground to make up.

Have Connell and Phillips gone down the Styles route and chucked the teddy out of the pram because no-one came in with a multi million pound bid.l
Which they both probably believe they are worth it, starting to believe their own press?

    Or are they just tired/injured.

Last time these two were missing we lost 4 v 0 at home and once again they were missing we were toothless in the middle of the park , I so not get this continual knocking of our better players, for me Connel should be the first name on the sheet , when he is missing no one else does the hard yards the dirty work by disrupting the opposition and getting the ***** tackles in , its all right having the hollywood moments now and then by some of our so called midfielders but we have to have the grafters the ones who are prepared to put a foot in and boy did we miss this side of the game today with Connel missing . Connel was injured and Philipps had personal reasons which I believe was an imminent birth or something .

Be nice to see some Hollywood moments, I haven’t.
Witnessed a few for Wrexham today though.

Connell injured and Phillips partner due to give birth.

I have to say a very entertaining first half and a special mention to some very good defending from the reds with De Geuigney and Farrugia exceptional.
Farrugia good with both his forward play and defending looking good this lad.
