    Deid - Ex Manager Edition

Former Aberdeen and Dunfermline Athletic manager Jimmy Calderwood has died aged 69.
Calderwood was diagnosed with early-onset dementia in 2017, three years after his final managerial post with Dutch side De Graafschap.
The Glaswegian won the 2000 Scottish second tier with Dunfermline and guided them to a record fourth-place finish in the top flight four years later.
His Aberdeen team famously drew with Bayern Munich in the 2007-08 Uefa Cup.
Calderwood also had short spells with Kilmarnock and Ross County - the latter featuring a Scottish Challenge Cup win - and spent much of his playing and coaching career in the Netherlands.

Sorry to hear that.He was only 69 as well.

I always thought Calderwood was a good manager for us.

Certainly better than some of the managers before and after him.

Ach sad news. Feel for his family and friends.

Rotten disease and with him so young you again worry about these guys heading a ball.

    Thanks Jimmy min

Was not as bad as many made out and a he did restore a degree of respect to the club during his time.

His five years in charge was never uneventful and there were good times to be had too.

    Horrible disease as well.

    RIP Jimmy

    Horrible disease and nae age.
I found him irksome when he was here with his sycophantic h*n pronouncements and his general media incontinence.
But he returned the club to a level of respectability after the Paterson carry on (several cup humiliations aside).
There was Copenhagen and that Euro campaign as well.
Nae hard feelings fella, RIP and thoughts with his family.

    A fkn horrible disease.
Jimmy was a bit of a character and we have certainly had a lot worse managers than him before and after his tenure.
Things might have been a bitty schloppy at times but, He brought back some credibility to the club and for that and the memories i thank him.
    RIP Jimmy
Once a don and all that.

Jimmy gave us Dons fans many memorable moments when he was at the helm. His tenure will be remembered for a long time, unlike those of more recent managers.

Yet another ex-pro dying with dementia. Sadly, it looks like a ticking timebomb for a generation of footballers.

Was thinking of the cup game at Tannadump in 2006 when we found ourselves 2-0 down and the jute supporters were organising an open bus to celebrate it.

Anyway, Jimmy had other ideas and went for it and we turned it around to a 2-3 victory. Which made for a great day and left the jute spewing.

There were bad times under Jimmy, especially in the cups and I witnessed a few of them first hand, but that game at United lives long in the memory.

Sad to learn JC has passed on .... His tenure was at the very least, interesting, and occasionally exciting. The fact he dug our beloved Dons out of a dark hole and treated us to some occasions and periods which gave us cause for optimism, and left us in a far, far better condition than he found us, is all that needs considered as a measure of a successful and effective boss.

A genuine character who is a miss to football in general, as well as to those closest to him. He will be remembered each and every time we encounter the words 'tombola' and 'bugles' - and fondly so I suspect.

He states he had a good life. Thanks for sharing it with us JC ... R.I.P.

I lost the watch my brother gave me for being best man at his wedding in the bounce for the third.

I was at most of the cup disasters. A succession of piss easy draws followed by total embarrassment. I remember watching Mackie balloon one over the bar at Firhill thinking it?s never going to get worse than this.
