Not surprised really.
Not surprised really.
Right, I'm putting my car in sport boost, I'll be there in 30.
It seems the Championship & Paul Warne are not made for each other, Derby big club but have not got the big club money.
Someone on here said the other week that Warne will be Posh manager within a month. That might be a good shout!
The haters will be smiling ear to ear.
He's been "found out" etc. The same ones who thought he'd be sacked after 3 months...
No budget for the league he's in (again).
That's true.
You only have to look at the paths of RUFC and DCFC in the 28 months since he departed to see the different trajectories. Unfortunately he/they hit upon a run of form that no manager who isn't named Pep and has access to almost 'unlimited' resources will usually survive.
By best mate is a Derby fan whose wife used to work with David Clowes. He said to me 18 months ago that all these Derby fans who think that when we return to the Championship we will start spending 10's of millions are in for a huge shock. I get the impression that Clowes is perhaps only 1 rung higher in the wealth charts than TS. That won't cut it at Championship level. The only thing Derby have that we haven't is attracting outside investment and a potential sale would be far easier.
Nothing bad to say about Paul Warne. Met him a couple of times. Intelligent, kind, genuine etc. A tough job at Derby but he got them in the championship but couldn't kick on. I think Derby had to try somebody else as manager. Hope Paul gets another job because he is one of the good guys.
There will be a few EFL League 1 & 2 managers sweating regarding their jobs now, with Paul Warne being available.
They will be hoping club owners don't get that itchy firing finger.
