--------Women's National League Premier South 12 clubs

--------WNL Division One Midlands 12 clubs (contains the non Oakwell Barnsley Women FC)
--------WNL Division One South East 12 clubs
--------WNL Division One South West 12 clubs
To be promoted to Tier 3 you need to be Champions of your Division One region.
Jess's Feminines start the season with a home match against AFC Fylde Women on Sunday 18 August KO 2-00 pm.
At Barnsley Football Club we are fortunate to have the services of not one, but two, global leading fashionistas. Our very own Julie Ann Quay of VFiles fame has persuaded Colm Dillane of Kids Super fame to collaborate with her in the design of both the women's and men's kits. They had two guiding principles---
1) In order to promote equality through the club (as Animal above has rightly pointed out) the women's and men's kits must be identical for the home, away and third kit. Julie and Colm decided on red at home, light grey away and pink for the third kit.
2) The iconic white shorts posed an issue however. They could occasionally identify which of the female players were menstruating if accidental leakage was to happen. To overcome this Julie and Colm came up with the idea to make the red kit have both red shirts and red shorts. In order to preserve equality this meant the men's shorts had also to be red.
So the cry of Red and White Army as Animal recalls from the past is no more.
(The only deviation from this equal kit rule is that the women's kit proudly advertises Julie's VFILES whereas the men's kit has a different sponsor)

The promise of games on the main pitch inside Oakwell Stadium for Jess's Women when possible does not seem to be being met. I'm sure Julie will look into this to promote equal treatment of both squads.
Despite no game on the pitch for several days and the weather producing a pitch unlikely to cut up the AFC Fylde game will be on the Astroturf.
Be there Sunday. Free entry. KO 2-00 pm. Get there early to secure view of game
Tut tut , the Oakwell playing area should have no two tier system ( I'm topical aren't I ) .
In fact they may well be occasions in the future when the ladies have a WSL game at home to Manchester City and the men may have to move over to the astroturf to play Bromley or maybe Harrogate Town in League Two .
Barnsley 2 AFC Fylde 2
A Desmond to start the new season.
