Not too aware of Jame's situation but he has clearly had to deal with life changing issues from a young age. Whilst I'm sure he must have had his dark days, hats off to him for his bravery and resilience over the years and also to all the professionals, support organizations and, of course, family members like yourself who have clearly given invaluable help and support to him over the years.

I'm sure I join everyone else on here in wishing James a very happy 25th Birthday and hope he has a great day! 🎂🍰🍾🍷🍺

Please pass on my best wishes Soulman. A long time back I too was an inmate at Birmingham Children’s Hospital. Even back then they were great.

Thanks for all the birthday messages,I'll pass them on to James .
For those who don't know James's story .
12 years ago my wife and I had the call nobody would ever want to answer .
My wife's sister, James's mom, rang from the accident scene she was frantic and crying .
She told James had been hit on a crossing and knocked 30ft away by a van doing between 34 to 38mph .
She told us to make our way to B'ham childens hospital ,the air ambulance doctor had to put James in a indused coma .
When we got to the hospital the ambulance was landing .
After an hour the Brain surgeon called all the family into a room .
He explained James's chances were 100 to 20% of surviving a long operation and at that couldn't say what the output would be .
James got through the operation and was in a coma for 4mths ,we visited every day .
When he come round he couldn't talk or move his limbs , he just stared after a couple of weeks he could respond by blinking his eyes .
At 6mths he was transferred to Tadworth in Surrey for 6mths ,there was flats in the hospital for the childrens parents , James Mom and Dad stopped there for the duration . There was also a flat you could book for family members , we stopped seval times to give support .
James had to relearn how to move his limbs and fingers , he comunicated by blinking, after another 3 mths he could move a couple of fingers .
Then they was a great break through ,they taught him to use an artificial voice machine to talk to us , he was on his way back with his cheeky sense of humour .
The money raised on the mad board and a shout out to the London Baggies , paid for a lot of private massarges .
I think it was around 18mths when he could talk again and eat and drink , he had been fed via a tube into his stomach .
Then it was gradual progress , he went to a special school and passed his GCE's .
James is wheel chair bound but can walk a few steps ,with his Dad holding him up .
His Dad has cared for him 24hrs a day for the last 12 years .
But we are gratefull to everyone for saving him .
James is a happy polite young man , he does have downers sometimes when we are out and he see's people his own age with girlfriends
    having fun etc .
He plays wheelchair football at the Albion foundation and goes to a place called the Hub a couple times a week for disabled young adults .
Sorry for the long post .

No need to apologise soulman. It has been an horrendous experience for the whole of your family. I cannot imagine what all of you have been through. I sincerely hope that James is successful in whichever direction he chooses to take in his life.

Soulman, firstly, apologies for not seeing this post earlier. I do recall the time you made the post regarding James? accident (When I was a viewer of the board without contribution). Can I add my belated best wishes to James for his birthday. He has my total admiration for what he has achieved following his accident. Clearly he is one heck of a lad and one that has a wonderful loving family providing him with much needed support that he requires.

I hope James continues to improve. I wish him and all his family all the very best going forward.
