I like Wallace and I think he gets a hard time from our fans unnecessarily. But I think this is a blessing in disguise.

We have a lot of players; probably too many. This stops a headache for TM.

That’s as I see it bmatt buddy. Can’t fault his commitment, but seems to get more pitch time than I prefer (given the available alternative options) He’s not the penetrating winger demonstrated in his early days and therefore this compulsory rest is well timed

Think you're right about the latter Matt. With the loans of Armstrong and Lankshear, and with Dike looking like he is now coming back, our forward line isn't looking too bad and we should have enough options for TM to chose from.

I get that, from a tactical point of view, we may want to field particular players to better suit the opposition on the day, but I also have sympathy for those who feel that we chop and change far too much which means we either lose momentum in a game or else players sometimes don't seem to gel . In the Blackburn game, for example, we never seemed to get a rhythm going and the team looked quite disjointed. You have to wonder whether less tampering would help. Having fewer players to chose from may actually work to force the issue?

We may have more quality up front than we have had in a while but we also still need to work out how to get around defences when they are set up against us as Plymouth and Blackburn did. I appreciate that when teams get so many behind the ball and then put at least two players on Fellows or Johnston it makes things far more difficult but too often we seemed bereft of ideas-mind you, passing the ball about both quicker and more accurately might help!

As for Jed, I don't doubt that he is a great character to have in the squad nor do I doubt his commitment but whilst he has been much better in his more recent outings he hasn't the pace now and I honestly think that so many of our other attacking players offer more. I wish him well for his recovery but the silver lining will be that at least he can't be first name on the team sheet anymore.

Could not have articulated it any better Omegstrat.

Excellent post, Mowbray?s fixation with Wallace, Swift and Diangana was becoming quite worrying, none of which offer anything anymore, they probably/hopefully won?t be here next season, it?s time to start building for the future with the new players, the disgusting and corrupt Premier League can wait for now

Jed has been a model professional for us, always given his best, even if that didn’t live up to the exacting standards expected by some of our supporters.

Correct. Never made a fuss when asked to play out of position to the detriment of his own game, form or confidence either as far as I'm aware. Good solid professional and decent club man.

In the continued absence of a couple of other posters if he didn't like it he could have kicked up a fuss or even handed in a transfer request but probably didn't because he knew he wouldn't get the same money elsewhere.

There's always more than one way to interpret what comes to pass when a player's form drops off a cliff and struggles with the basics but as the saying goes you pays your money and takes your choice..... or get paid and stay where you are.

He does receive a lot of stick from my mates.
I like to think he's a 'thinking' footballer rather than a 'physical' footballer.
Created a couple of goals a few games back with crosses from the right.
Always good to have player options and he may still make the side before the end of the season.
